Hi Snap157, Stromkirk Noble deals no damage on turn 1 (summoning sickness), 1 damage on turn 2, 2 damage on turn 3, Then 3 damage on turn 4, which is still a total of 6, while Goblin Guide (assuming it wasn't blocked or removed) would have dealt 8. The total damage it deals wouldn't catch up with Goblin Guide until turn 5, which is really slow, especially in Legacy.
I don't like Goblin Guide because it's a serious removal target and it helps opponents ramp (especially if they're playing Brainstorm or Ponder- and many decks are). However, I fail to see how Stromkirk Noble is a better option than Goblin Guide in terms of damage.

Personally I always prefer Stromkirk Noble as opposed to goblin guide, because it deals more damage after three turns than guide and grows into a bigger threat. Might want to take into account before you buy them
