Anyone want to help me with a Lethal Vapors Noble?

December 14, 2014 12:47 p.m.

Serra's Sanctum and Gaea's Cradle should be banned too.

It's hardly new at this point, but I figure I should post my most successful Noble deck here: Noble Urborg - What the FRACK?! [Drillin' for Oil]. I love this format, and I've even hosted a Noble tournament.

heay my first noble deck is probably too jank but still awsome in its consistency Noble Assault

So if I've got a card like Shield Sphere that was printed as a common in a MTGO only set and is uncommon in paper, can I still play it as a common in my noble deck?

iClassicControl i honestly doubt MTGO editions count, so i would say no but the rules don't seem to say.

Anybody in the Noble-using community have any thoughts on my latest Noble deck -- Natural Enhancement? I'd love to get some feedback!

I love this! I came up with an idea similar to this because I liked pauper, but wanted some more flexibility. I called it the bourgeois format because it was like a pauper deck that thought it belonged in the nobility.

Not sure if this would actually work, but I'd definitely do something with The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale as my noble card (how is that not banned yet???) playing a bunch of counterspells and burn spells, or I'd have Emrakul, the Aeons Torn as my noble with 4x each Urza's Mine, Urza's Power Plant, Urza's Tower and build around that. Just too lazy to do it tonight, but I'll probably work on it tomorrow. Suggestions are welcome :)

Obviously, I did not read all 400 of those comments so if this has already been addressed well sorry.

Says that I may activate my noble's abilities from the command zone. Let's talk Bloodrush. I am technically incapable of discarding a card that isn't technically in my hand-thus, does my Bloodrush noble simply stay in the command zone?

This is awesome, I've been looking for a way to make Broodstar as a 'comander' but just didn't quite know how.

One question (and when I did a Ctrl+F I wasn't able to find this question already) but is AEther Vial at all OP for the one (or more) of the 4 uncommons due to it's Darksteel Print?

V nice format. Looks like good fun, and great for easing new players toward EDH without blowing their heads up too!

ps. is this more of a one-on-one or multiplayer format in your view?

One on one. It is quite competitive, but with a lot of diverse decks. =)

If only it was a more well known format.

AngelofDivinity - I just checked the rules page and for some reason the ruling that we discussed didn't quite make it in as intended. your noble's abilities may be activated as though it were in your hand, so things like ninjitsu suspend and bloodrush do indeed work as intended.

for whatever reason only the suspend ruling made it in. I don't have a link to the place where we discussed it because it was a while ago, might be on this thread tho.

This is such a cool format! Too bad it's kinda dead on a wide scale.

I'm wondering why Tapped Out mades some cards "illegal" in this format when.. it's obviously not? Look at the cards of the OP.. most are illegal, and this deck (with the description) is actually the reference for the format.

Is it a bug or something? Is Tapped Out know about it?

Also, I made a deck recently, I love it!

and change an old one, so it's much more playable now!

Funkydiscogod... well, yes, but in the same time, I hope you have another plan.. cause the rest of your deck doesn't have any other rare nor noble. Also, you will make your opponent discard a common or maybe an uncommon, which is probably not THE card of their deck (cause noble?)..

but yes, you can have Thoughtseize as your noble if you want

I have the same question as Frytrix99, what is going on with the tappedout banlist? How is it that this example deck itself, posted by the creators of the format, is illegal?

Hi guys! I recently found out about this format and I'm super excited to brew! Before I do, I have a question about how certain Nobles would work. If I choose one of the Leylines as my Noble does the ability to put it on the battlefield work? The rules say that card's abilities from hand can be activated but I'm not sure if this would apply to the Leylines! Thanks :)

I think I really like the idea behind this format. But I think much like the Oathbreaker it can be "solved" some decks will be incredibly broken while the main idea behind this format is a new way of constructing decks for cheap (much like Oathbreaker as well)

October 1, 2023 12:31 p.m.

thijmnesoy says... #23

wait you can use ANY rare card as your noble card? that could be very broken

October 6, 2023 4:42 p.m.

thijmnesoy says... #24

question: can you have a land as your noble card? I don't think so right? because you need to be able to cast your noble card

howdy. noble is a defunct format at this point if it ever wasn't. the website (which i built :D) has been offline for many years now as we all had our fun and went our separate ways after the host decided to pull the plug

thanks for the comments. I personally build decks now for Legacy Brawl as a successor to the Noble format and for Penny Dreadful on modo for the cheap decks (as you can see i still like my homebrew formats). And you might ask how do i do paper cards still when mtg is so expensive and noble was for making cheap decks? well my friend, i'm not sure if discussion of such things is allowed but if you pm me i will be glad to explain further.
