what would you hunt for with the mystic exactly? what uncommon equipment would be that good?

Couple things.

i think that the color identity of the noble should be a thing.

Also, since you may only use a rare or mythic for your noble, that discounts all non creature rares and mythics right?

You may use any rare or mythic as your Noble, any card type. Also, if we used the Noble's color identity to determine card legality during deck construction, it would severely limit any kind of combo. In fact, to the point that the few combo's that would still exist wouldn't have anything to compete with and would most likely run rampant in the format. Having so many different combo's tends to actually balance things out.

Also, vishnarg, we only ban cards that can lead to a turn 3 win, and I highly doubt that a Stoneforge MysticMTG Card: Stoneforge Mystic deck would be able to do so without some other combo.

@KorApprentice, you seriously don't think that Stoneforge MysticMTG Card: Stoneforge Mystic is abusable? Really? Did you play standard a year ago?

Conphas says... #8

Another deck. Feed The Noble I seem to be in love with enchantments as nobles.

That was with Sword of War and PeaceMTG Card: Sword of War and Peace and all of the other rare and mythic equipments (Sword of Body and MindMTG Card: Sword of Body and Mind, Sword of Feast and FamineMTG Card: Sword of Feast and Famine, BatterskullMTG Card: Batterskull all of which are mythics). look and see if you find any overpowered uncommon or common equipments that would break her. Without those equipments she is SERIOUSLY nerfed.

KorApprentice says... #10

@vishnarg, what equipment would she grab that would win on turn 3/4 or forestall a Storm deck (random Noble deck example) from winning on turn 5? And yes, I did play with her in last years Standard, I also had a user:Jace,%20the%20Mindsculptor.

Yeah but there is still have all these: http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Search/Default.aspx?action=advanced&format=+[%22Legacy%22]&subtype=+[%22Equipment%22]&rarity=|[C]|[U]&rating=+%3E[4]

I rest my case.

vishnarg says... #13

Lol im just kidding, shes not broken but certainly fun for this format. I think my RDW Noble is insane though - Chandra's PhoenixMTG Card: Chandra's Phoenix can be plain unstoppable.

April 6, 2012 12:14 p.m.

KorApprentice says... #14

How do any of those win on turn 4... Am I missing a combo? Please explain, I must be too near-sighted to which of those cards makes Stoneforge MysticMTG Card: Stoneforge Mystic bannable.

KorApprentice says... #15

Ah ha, I thought I smelled a troll! Well then, I apologize, I had posted before I saw you were joking :)

April 6, 2012 12:16 p.m.

vishnarg says... #16

I said I'm kidding, it's not bannable, just very good. Take a chill pill, jeez

April 6, 2012 12:16 p.m.

vishnarg says... #17

Hahaha yeah.... now this is awkward

April 6, 2012 12:17 p.m.

KorApprentice says... #18

Yes, quite. I like your RDW though, I left you a card suggestion I think you will like very much.

April 6, 2012 12:18 p.m.

vishnarg says... #19

Yes, thank you. I definitely like this better than EDH- so much simpler and cheaper to make, and you have just as much fun.

Just finished my first noble format deck: Burning Noble

This format should be an official one! I love it!

KorApprentice says... #21

Zarum, you accidently linked someone else's Stromkirk NobleMTG Card: Stromkirk Noble RDW, here is your deck; Burning Noble. Your unique deck slug is [Burning-Noble-1].

Zarum says... #22

woops, i didn't even notice that.

Pulled an Angelic DestinyMTG Card: Angelic Destiny last week, but did not know what to do with it. So I made a Noble deck around it after seeing this deck.

deck:noble-angelic-humans

Minousmancer says... #24

squire1 , as KorApprentice, sad... Any card can be your Noble, this is sorta like EDH but only sorta.

vishnarg, How abusable is Stoneforge MysticMTG Card: Stoneforge Mystic without swords? None of the cards in your Gatherer: list are that bad...http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Search/Default.aspx?action=advanced&format=+[%22Legacy%22]&subtype=+[%22Equipment%22]&rarity=|[C]|[U]&rating=+%3E[4] - Blah.

Oh and a note on Chandra's PhoenixMTG Card: Chandra's Phoenix Blah, blah blah, I'll cast a Wall of AirMTG Card: Wall of Air or 4.

April 6, 2012 2:33 p.m.

KorApprentice says... #25

Minousmancer, we have already settled that vishnarg was joking, he does not need to be lectured anymore :)

And Chandra's PhoenixMTG Card: Chandra's Phoenix is a great card, what's this about blah blah blah? Your Wall of AirMTG Card: Wall of Air can't even take a Lightning BoltMTG Card: Lightning Bolt after blocking Chandra's PhoenixMTG Card: Chandra's Phoenix. But different decks have different strategies, so let's not discount anyone's deck, alright? I'd like to keep this friendly.
