U can't cast Phage the Untouchable from the command zone or you lose the game.

I have a fried who loves his Phage commander. He wrecks everyone. Honestly he has won way to many games. http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/phage-gets-phresh/ That's his build.

just gotta have that counter in your hand for when someone trys to kill Torpor Orb not nearly as risky as one may think ....

Why not add Strionic Resonator so if you have sundial or platinum angel out you can copy Phages ETB and make someone else lose

How exactly would that work Killxp888? Also thought of a very serious suggestion for this deck : Codex Shredder return torpor orb from your graveyard in mono black : D This is also an extremely powerful and highly overlooked control tool in EDH.

Well, I might be mistaken on how Strionic Resonator works Fendorian, but when Phages ETB trigger is on the stack couldn't you copy it and make it effect another player? If you had platinum angel out it wouldn't matter of your effect resolved and if you had sundial out then their effect could resolve and after that you "end your turn". Though this theory all stands if Strionic Resonator works the way I thought.

This is a tough one. It is a very interesting theory now that you explain, and I thought about it for a minute. Im not 100% positive now, im not pretending to be a judge, but I believe that the key here is the word "You" therefore if you copied it, players other than "you" it would be an illegitimate target?

I'm surprised that Shizo, Death's Storehouse isn't in your list!

Its in there now. as you might not have noticed, i havent actually updated this deck in a very long time (4 months), due to the fact i made a bunch of huge changes and too lazy to update them here.

Lich could be funny in here, and make you able to cast Phage without losing immediately.

Even if i have Lich out, it does not stop me from losing the game if i play phage.

Vampiric Tutor over Diabolic Tutor. Necropotence is the best black draw engine. Damnation for removal.

May I suggest Quicksilver Amulet to cheat out paying Phage the Untouchable's mana cost,
May I also suggest that the decks you have be in the deck-large: format? It would make it just that bit easier to get the basic information about them. I was also wondering if you could explain the 23 card update a little better? I'd like to know a little more about the changes yout made, it helps ghide suggestions. Thanks!

For Quicksilver Amulet to work, Phage has to be in my hand. rarely is she in my hand aside from Command Beacon and even then thats a One time thing.
is there an edh formatting for this site? (When did that happen?) Ive sporadically posted my edh decks on this site, and rarely update them, the 23 card update was in november, and i honestly cant remember what i changed.
it was more than likely general upgrades. and recently, i just changed some stuff (Origins and beyond) into this list. nothing really worth talking about, a tutor and command beacon.
if you want to know why i have a certain card in this deck (Protip, its either Personal preference, Works well with phage, or ramp) Just ask. (why dont i have a Damnation or Vampiric Tutor? I dont own one, lol)

I'm a devout member of the Church of NecroJournal. May I ask you about our lord and savior today? No, though, really. I'm a huge fan of Necropotence + Venser's Journal especially in Mono-Black.
Expedition Map seems pretty good here. I know that's a pretty generic staple card. But with Rogue's Passage as a major win con and Command Beacon as a reliable way to get your Commander out, I can see it being worth it. You also mention a Homeward Path combo and play plenty of utility lands like Bojuka Bog.
With as many artifacts as you're playing Beacon of Unrest would not be a bad choice. And this is a little janky and definitely not a card I normally recommend, but this is not a normal deck, maybe Reito Lantern? It allows you to put Command Beacon back into your library to be tutored for later so that you can get Phage back from the Command Zone. It also allows you to shuffle Phage from your graveyard into your library so that you may tutor for her.
Volrath's Stronghold, Mortuary Mire, and Xiahou Dun, the One-Eyed would be great in this deck.

Cool deck but there are a lot of dangers that come with having her. I've seen someone lose because they cast phage with Torpor Orb and then lose because someone cyclonic riffed their torpor orb

I think you could get more use out of Torpor Orb, Sundial, and Endless Whispers effects. Obviously, they are in the deck to let you play your commander but those just make her playable. These cards can be abused to get real value and here is a few options for that Eater of Days, Hunted Horror, Phyrexian Dreadnought, Treacherous Pit-Dweller, and Demonlord of Ashmouth.

Some cards to consider:
-Dark Impostor (Great reoccurring removal)
-Worst Fears Honestly there is nothing to be said against this card in commander
-Behold the Beyond Snag those key cards
Not sure if Phage's ability is a valid target (Pretty sure it is), but if so Strionic Resonator would be unholy

Putting in Thrull Wizard is a stroke of genius. Here is something that I KNOW you will be excited to add: Hall of the Bandit Lord
