As I expected nothing really fantastic was spoiled for Merfolk. The idea for a black splash for Assassin's Trophy, Vraska Golgari Queen, and Thought Erasure seems nice but the mana base is not quite there to support it in my mind. I anticipate Dimir or Esper or maybe Grixis Control, Golgari based Mid-range, and Mono-Red or Boros aggro to be the most popular decks of choice in the opening weeks. I have made a few adjustments to the list to account for that but feel free to adjust based on your local meta game. Also pay attention to what pops up at the SCG Team Open that first week. Will have an update for the list once the set is released and we see what decks people pick.
