After testing in a little, I've decided to make some changes in my card.

+1 Brimstone VolleyMTG Card: Brimstone Volley+1 Devil's PlayMTG Card: Devil's Play-1 GeistflameMTG Card: Geistflame-1 Volt ChargeMTG Card: Volt Charge

Devil's PlayMTG Card: Devil's Play doesn't have the instant speed of GeistflameMTG Card: Geistflame but it is much more useful late game.

Volt ChargeMTG Card: Volt Charge's proliferate hasn't been useful yet but I'll keep one in the deck in the off chance it can power up my vampires, the berserker or Koth.

I haven't drawn Brimstone VolleyMTG Card: Brimstone Volley yet but I have a hunch it will get very hot very soon.

You should really cut GeistflameMTG Card: Geistflame for either IncinerateMTG Card: Incinerate or more Volt ChargeMTG Card: Volt Charge. Even Gut ShotMTG Card: Gut Shot would work better if you want to keep the 1 damage since you can pay for it with life if you don't have open mana. Check out my Red It Up for ideas.

When you do get some DKA cards added, HellriderMTG Card: Hellrider is a perfect fit for RDW

Really no, Chandra's PhoenixMTG Card: Chandra's Phoenix, Brimstone VolleyMTG Card: Brimstone Volley, Curse of BloodlettingMTG Card: Curse of Bloodletting, Evolving WildsMTG Card: Evolving Wilds, or Inferno TitanMTG Card: Inferno Titans? HydroFalcon's deck is close but still missing key elements...

I'm thinking :

-3 GeistflameMTG Card: Geistflame

-2 Grim LavamancerMTG Card: Grim Lavamancer

-1 Shrine of Burning RageMTG Card: Shrine of Burning Rage

-3 MountainMTG Card: Mountain

+2 Furnace ScampMTG Card: Furnace Scamp

+3 Ghost QuarterMTG Card: Ghost Quarter

+3 Gut ShotMTG Card: Gut Shot

+1 Volt ChargeMTG Card: Volt Charge

@Zarum : HellriderMTG Card: Hellrider could replace Hero of Oxid RidgeMTG Card: Hero of Oxid Ridge but I'm not sure he would fit.

@Minousmancer : What would you take out to add a Curse of BloodlettingMTG Card: Curse of Bloodletting ?

Minousmancer says... #7

Your Hero, also Koth over Chandra, why?

Sideboard Ghost QuarterMTG Card: Ghost Quarter add 4xEvolving WildsMTG Card: Evolving Wilds...

This is going to be the new version of your deck come Fall, unless they take out Shrine of Burning RageMTG Card: Shrine of Burning Rage, then it will be 3xCurse of BloodlettingMTG Card: Curse of Bloodletting and HellriderMTG Card: Hellrider.

What is the advantage of this poor man's fetch ? Is it to thin the deck to the point where all I draw is a possible action ?

Do you use it ? If so, how do you cope with the basic land being tapped ?

I prefer Koth over Chandra for the 4/4 elemental/mountain for +1 or 4 extra mana for -2. I've tried Chandra and she always get killed before she can double a useful spell.

PS : I like deck:olivias-bloodhall, +1

Evolving WildsMTG Card: Evolving Wilds like Terramorphic ExpanseMTG Card: Terramorphic Expanse before it, cuts space in your deck so you can get to your 'spells' faster, it cuts eight cards out of your deck without messing up your Mana-curve it's like having a 52 card deck without having to adjust your lands. So 18 lands becomes 26 when you only need 14 it is awesome card advantage.

As to your question about Snapcaster MageMTG Card: Snapcaster Mage going into the deck. It become risky, because you're splashing blue in for something that might pay off. Now, if you're playing with Evolving WildsMTG Card: Evolving Wilds as Minousmancer recommends, you might be able to pull it off reliably.

I'll admit, one of my favorite combos in the Blue/Red spread is to flash out a Snapcaster MageMTG Card: Snapcaster Mage on your opponents declare blockers step, target Brimstone VolleyMTG Card: Brimstone Volley, chump block, so your Snapcaster MageMTG Card: Snapcaster Mage dies (and maybe one of their creatures) and then during their second main, slap them in the face for 5.

djgunn that's a nice combo.

I went :-3 GeistflameMTG Card: Geistflame-1 Goblin FireslingerMTG Card: Goblin Fireslinger-2 Grim LavamancerMTG Card: Grim Lavamancer-1 Hero of Oxid RidgeMTG Card: Hero of Oxid Ridge-1 Shrine of Burning RageMTG Card: Shrine of Burning Rage-7 MountainMTG Card: Mountain

+1 Curse of BloodlettingMTG Card: Curse of Bloodletting+3 Furnace ScampMTG Card: Furnace Scamp+3 Gut ShotMTG Card: Gut Shot+1 Snapcaster MageMTG Card: Snapcaster Mage+2 IslandMTG Card: Island+1 Sulfur FallsMTG Card: Sulfur Falls+4 Evolving WildsMTG Card: Evolving Wilds

Snapcaster MageMTG Card: Snapcaster Mage will help flashback Gut ShotMTG Card: Gut Shot instead of GeistflameMTG Card: Geistflame or any other useful spell for some blue mana which I have 3 of + 4 evolving wilds to be sure to always have them. With Phyrexian MetamorphMTG Card: Phyrexian Metamorph in the sidedeck against powerful legendaries, the extra blue mana won't hurt.

I'm also letting Grim LavamancerMTG Card: Grim Lavamancer and a Goblin FireslingerMTG Card: Goblin Fireslinger go to get some early game tempo with Furnace ScampMTG Card: Furnace Scamp.

Finaly, I'm sidedecking a Hero of Oxid RidgeMTG Card: Hero of Oxid Ridge in favor of a Curse of BloodlettingMTG Card: Curse of Bloodletting.

For the sidedeck, I've got some Artifact hate, some Land hate, Act of AggressionMTG Card: Act of Aggression to steal the really-big-guys at Instant speed and WhipflareMTG Card: Whipflare to take care of the aggro decks.

I've tested Furnace ScampMTG Card: Furnace Scamp and Evolving WildsMTG Card: Evolving Wilds and I'm very disapoint.

I will probably try to lower my mana base to 21 lands and see if I can add a creature to power up Brimstone VolleyMTG Card: Brimstone Volley.

I'm thinking of going :

+1 Ghost QuarterMTG Card: Ghost Quarter

+1 Goblin FireslingerMTG Card: Goblin Fireslinger

+1 Stromkirk NobleMTG Card: Stromkirk Noble

How are you disappointed in Furnace ScampMTG Card: Furnace Scamp? turn two 4 damage for a one drop... but I wouldn't run any Evolving WildsMTG Card: Evolving Wilds, from personal experience I need my mana right away.

February 24, 2012 3:22 p.m.

Monkios says... #16

Furnace ScampMTG Card: Furnace Scamps are pretty useless after turn 2. I'm keeping two to have more chances to get one on first draw but one more would take place in the deck.

I'll try a lowered land count, no Evolving WildsMTG Card: Evolving Wilds and go for one Faithless LootingMTG Card: Faithless Looting.

I'm not sure I should switch all of them. For example, Faithless LootingMTG Card: Faithless Looting and Snapcaster MageMTG Card: Snapcaster Mage are never the answer to a problem but they can help get it.

Why is there no Chandra at all in this deck O.O
