what about Slaughter Pact or something, to make sure that they can't tutor some other win condition, like Felidar Sovereign

you're right about only working once. The second that card hits the table you better kill any combo player in 2 turns or the table is dead. +1 for lols.

chocolate101 - in any proper match everyone tutors up a counterspell.......
March 31, 2014 7:12 p.m.
What? Your playing Maralen. You tutor for Ad Nauseam . Everyone else tutors for counterspell. You cast Ad Nauseam . They cast Negate . GG
That's how it works in the real world.

So there's no point for Slaughter Pact or anything else. The real issue with Maralen is that she allows everyone else to tutor first.

This deck, as I thought people could tell, is a joke. It's a glass cannon that never even gets loaded because opponents get to search for the best removal possible for maralen. It's not supposed to be good.

Oh boy. I'm going to build this deck for a real laugh. It's fantastic!
I ran through a few tests and it turns out this deck goes off best if you get to draw on first turn (either your opponent gets first turn or you play a multiplayer game).
T1: Draw to 8, play a land.
T2: Draw to 8, play a land.
T3: Draw to 8, play a land, play commander.
T4: Draw to 8 (searching for Skirge Familiar
), play a land.
T5: Draw to 8 (searching for ad nauseum), play a land, play Skirge. Discard 5 land, play Ad Nauseum to the end of your library then Exsanguinate
.
Any other way will leave you lagging behind a turn.

In all seriousness though, what if you put in a Duress to make them discard their counter and then play Ad Nauseam . Then if they counter the Duress , the Ad Nauseam goes off.

If somebody wants to make this deck serious and attempt to win with it, be my guest. This deck is literally JUST to be silly. That's it.

Elixir of Immortality and Diabolic Tutor . Now it works as many times as you want it to. If you pop the combo and nobody has any counters in hand, then unless they have a way to avoid life loss or something like that, you kill everybody.

Elixir of Immortality so if the combo gets countered you can try again. Also Briber's Purse and Dark Sphere for early game protection and maybe Jeweled Amulet for ramp.

I think it wouldn't hurt to put a few tutor effects.
My suggestions:
Also:
Lion's Eye Diamond to cast Maralen on T1

Dr4c0, I'm pretty sure that would be redundant because he would be discarding all of the lands with Skirge Familiar.

This is the exact same deck my brother built. Reminds of those 58 mountain Countryside Crusher decks.
