So this deck is basically just infinite Mana by using Grand Architect + Pili-Pala
and then ending the game right there (once the combo is made).
My biggest problem with this deck is SIdeboarding. So I would welcome anyone who is willing to give Suggestions on good Sideboard cards for this deck against some of the main decks (POD, Affinity, Control, Mirror Match tron, RDW/Burn, etc.).
THE COMBO
Turn 1: Play a land (preferably an Island on 1st turn depending on your opening hand)
Turn 2: Play an Island, play Pili-Pala
Turn 3: Swing with Pili-Pala to tap him, 2nd Main Phase play Grand Architect and this is where all the magic happens!
Tap Grand Architect and activate his 2nd Ability to add 2 Mana to your pool (he doesn't need haste). Use the 2 Mana to activate Pili-Pala's untap Ability and add 1 Blue Mana to your pool. Use the Blue Mana to activate Grand Architect's 1st Ability to turn Pili-Pala Blue. Now that he's Blue, he can activate Grand Architect's 2nd Ability himself to make infinite mana! (using his own Ability)
CARD PURPOSES
Tutors:
Tolaria West: Tutors for Pact of Negation
Muddle the Mixture: Tutors for Pili-Pala and counters a spell!
Drift of Phantasms: Tutors for Grand Architect and Blue Sun's Zenith! Not just that, he's also a great Blocker as well!
Draw Spells:
Gitaxian Probe: Let's me see there hand to see what's coming and Draw a card!
Serum Visions: Draw and Scry 2 for U? Yes please!
Train of Thought: Draws my whole deck when the combo is up and running...And just draws me a card if I need to draw quicker if I don't have the combo running.
Halimar Depths: Helps shape the order of my next 3 draws.
Game Enders!:
Banefire: Game ender, and is uncounterable when X is more than 5? Great Burn Spell to end it all with!
Blue Sun's Zenith: "TARGET PLAYER DRAWS?" Yeah, you can draw out your Library and lose! It also works during combat for when I swing with Pili-Pala and they can block, I'll play it right there!
Emrakul, the Aeons Torn: When he's casted/played onto the Battlefield...it's over!
Exsanguinate: Works perfect in multiplayer as it kills all opponents. I can also tutor for it with Muddle the Mixture.
Counterspells:
Spell Pierce: Stalls on Turn 1, and is just a good counterspell in general.
Pact of Negation: The Show Stealer of the deck, once the combo is going, I don't have to worry about not paying the 5 mana! So it's a free counterspell!
Misc.
Vapor Snag: Stalls when I need to swing with Pili-Pala, or need to keep him/Grand Architect alive.
Academy Ruins To put Pili-Pala back on top of my Library after he dies.
Any tips/comments for this deck (and a +1 upvote :p) will be greatly appreciated!
