Commander / EDH BRG (Jund) Casual Dragons Ramp

Why do I wanna make this deck?

This is my first deck. I made it because I wanted to play EDH with my friends. The goal is was to figure out how to make decks, and to figure out how I like to make my decks. Now, I don't really know what the goal of the deck is. It's somewhere between "it's my first deck and it still exists due to nostalgia", "I wanna try new things" and "I don't know why this deck hasn't been pulled apart yet".

How do I reach that goal/want?

Because the Why is so vague, so is the How. The deck just wants to play dragons and turn them sideways. The person who first taught me how to play EDH prefers playing magic that way, and although I don't hate it, it tends to bore me a bit. So right now, I've tried to add a dragon ETB theme to it. Not sure at all if it works.

What do I need to do that?

Firstly, dragons tend to be expensive, so I need plenty of mana. Ramp away! Secondly, dragons tend to draw removal, so I want to recur them. Recursion away! Thirdly, the dragon ETB bit makes it better to play smaller dragons/tokens rather than a few big ones. I'll need to find the balance between the "lord" effects to buff my dragons, and the creation of many dragons (if at all possible).

Potential issue with this play is that it loses the old feel of swinging in with big dragons and turn it into a token deck, and I do know I don't want that.

Updates Add

The deck has felt too "tryhard" or something along those lines. I want it to be simpler, so it requires less thought to play the deck, since I want to kind of have this be my "intro to Commander" deck/my "end of the evening" deck. As such, I think removing the token theme I added last year and want to return to some simpler cards.

Reasons for removal:

  • Go for the Throat, Night's Whisper, Return of the Wildspeaker, Birds of Paradise and Herald's Horn feel too "tryhard".
  • Dragonmaster Outcast, Nesting Dragon, Scourge of Valkas, Utvara Hellkite, Crucible of Fire and Flameshadow Conjuring were all part of the token package, so they're out.
  • Ever After is good, but I want to swap it out for some cheaper recursion.
  • Reasons for adding:

  • Dreadbore, Ravenous Chupacabra and Damnable Pact feel far less "tryhard", and give me easy cards to play with.
  • Drakuseth, Maw of Flame, Hellkite Charger, Hellkite Tyrant, Kokusho, the Evening Star and Red Dragon are more simple cards that just do Dragon(tm) stuff.
  • Immersturm Predator is a little harder than really intended, but it's also some decent graveyard hate, and it's not that complicated.
  • Ganax, Astral Hunter and Solemn Simulacrum are simple and slower ramp cards, and I feel like that's part of the less "tryhard" thing I'm going for.
  • Graveshifter is a good recursion card that syngergizes with Dragons, which is bonus nice.
