It's Back(Mono-Blue Devotion)

Standard

nighthawk079

Sideboard

Creature (2)

Planeswalker (1)

Maybeboard

Haven't played this deck in a while, but with the new, cheaper (yet uglier) Jace, I thought I might try it again. Creature base is 28 standards, with 2 Omenspeakers for consistency. 25 land is so that enough blue mana is hit for Nightveil Specter and the like, as mutavaults don't count for much in terms of mana in this deck. It also is there to help the sideboard AEtherling hit the board earlier. 2 Jace, Architect of Thought, 2 Cyclonic Rift and 1 Bident of Thassa feel like the right amount, but I am willing to make major adjustments here if necessary. Sideboard attempts to deal with the control match-up. 2 Pithing Needle to try ensure their planeswalkers can't do anything, and even if you need to name Jace, Architect of Thought, he at least provides 2 devotion for you. Not doing much for them. Gainsay s and Syncopates are their to counter their counters, keep their walkers of the board, and Gainsay in the mirror is nice. 2 AEtherling against control allows me to try and put them on a clock instead of the otherway round. And look, 2 devotion! Another Jace, Architect of Thought against slower decks helps dig for win cons, and lastly, Rapid Hybridization is for decks with massive threats that you don't want to deal with, eg Desecration Demon, Polukranos, World Eater, Blood Baron of Viskopa or Stormbreath Dragon. Sorry for going on and on for so long. Please tell me what you think, and any ideas you have to make this deck kick some ass. Thanks.
