It's beginning to look a lot like Grixis.

Slaughter Games and Counterflux rip UW and Esper Control a new one.

Name Sphinx's Revelation unless they're running a single AEtherling as their finisher. When you're searching through their deck just write the whole thing down so even if you still lose, you'll know exactly what you're up against for the next tournament.

Slaughter games is awesome and I'm not sure about Counterflux. I love that it can't be countered but the mana may be problem. However, if I'm playing Control I should have enough mana by then. Point made. Thanks!

Speaking from experience, Counterflux is tough to cast. I ended up cutting it for Dissolve , because it's far easier to cast.

this is a pretty good deck. i would try to make room for a Quicken or 2 since you have so many sorceries. i have never had a problem casting Counterflux . it is really awesome in the control matchup. i ended up cutting counters altogether in my grixis. i found that a higher threat density helps me more than counter spells. overall, a good deck here. +1!

Thanks! Yeah, I totally forgot about Quicken, but playing Quicken, Drawing a card and being able to react with Dreadbore? Awesome! Thanks =D

  1. Love the name
  2. Griptide for synergy with ashiok in the sideboard?
  3. Thassa, God of the Sea ? you seem to have a lot of blue symbols floating around by the endgame, it will also help fetch you the cards you need in a pinch.
  4. Still Love the name
  5. (This is my own personal oppinion I'm trying to push this card) Izzet Staticaster has a lot of uses in standard right now, especially against master of waves (the tokens, anyhow), Elspeth, Lifebane Zombie, and can be combined with spells like Turn to take something out, it also helps removal that comes up just short get there.

I've also thought about Izzet Staticaster because it blows up GR devotion mana dorks. I've also played around with Thassa and I may include her as a one of. Griptide isn't to bad, but it's a little costly. I don't have much problem with creatures, except the tokens.

I would toss in some Nightveil Specter to up the thassa devotion.

I had specter but I'm not impressed. Thassa isn't really my win con and turn three I'd rather play ashiok. I'd rather have the spot for removal. :)

Are you against playing Hero's Downfall ?

Not necessarily. I've been going back and forth whether to play dread bore or downfall. I haven't noticed much of a difference to be honest.

You could cut or move Ultimate Price to the sideboard and put in 3x Hero's Downfall alongside 3x Dreadbore .

That's a good idea. I'll playtest that. Thanks!

GoldGhost012 Thanks for the suggestion, both of those cards have been amazing! I put Thoughtseize back in because it's way to good to not use. Also updated to use Izzet Staticaster mainboard but might move it to the side. Depends on the meta I play in.

Have you thought about Illness in the Ranks for token decks? I was thinking about running this side board in a Grixis build I am working on. Hadn't thought about the Izzet Staticaster . Nice build.

DimirPlagueLord Whoa, I definitely missed that card! I think that should be heavily abused. Adding it now!
