im forgetting some names here, but there is that one card that says search for an enchantment and put it in hand. Also, try adding Seance. It would just dick around, but in a good way.

I love the synergy here. Sidisi, Undead Vizier becomes a three mana tutor. Bloodhusk Ritualist becomes a hand nuker with enough black mana. Mulldrifter becomes a one mana draw 2.

Really well done sir.

Thanks car, TMBRLZ. It's a bit of an evolution of older decks. Any thoughts on the sideboard and land base? Number seems right, but I may have too many duals.

Personally I would ease up on the black duals and just cram in more Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth. With 50% of your deck running black having a deck full legendary swamps that make everything else swamps doesn't hurt you at all. That means some of your other lands can focus more explicitly on other colors. Obviously those can't be your only black source but it's a really good way to reinforce your mana base for a certain color.

That's a good call TMBRLZ. Will give them a tweak. Any sideboard ideas. I'm thinking an additional spellskite for Bogles and Burn. Maybe Kor Firewalker for burn. Slum Reaper to replace shriekmaw for Bogles and Affinity, possibly Minister of Pain as well for elves. Maybe Meddling Mage or Tidehollow Sculler for combo decks. Massacre Wurm may also be useful against affinity.

Leyline of Sanctity is always good.

How do you plan to cast Myr Superion?

January 22, 2016 7:21 p.m.

Draw_Wurm says... #8

Hey wasianpower. Heartless summoning means it's free to cast. Same with the spellskites.

Ah, of course. Nice deck, +1 from me.

January 23, 2016 11:20 a.m.

Really cool deck. I'd add some Stony Silence and Kataki, War's Wage to the sideboard to combat Affinity. Kataki dies to Heartless Summoning, which might make it a bad idea, but Stony Silence is really amazing against Affinity, Tron, and other decks too. It's tutorable with Muddle the Mixture, too.

I think you should sideboard Disenchant. It works well against a large part of the meta, and you have 3 available sideboard spots. I also think you should flip the number of thoughtseize and inquisitions, because thoughtseize almost always hits somethings that inquisition could have hit.

car was it Idyllic Tutor, Mine Excavation or Dawn to Dusk you were thinking of?

BoardFire thanks for taking a look. Disenchant definitely a good shout. Maybe 1 Stony Silence as ToolmasterOfBrainerd suggests.

What do people think of the creature mix now? Better?

Dragon's Claw might be better for a 3 color deck then Kor Firewalker. It's not on a stick so it can't be taken out by a Pyroclasm

That's a good shout ilikepie9182. Updated. Thanks

wasianpower says... #15

@ilikepie9182 You're right about dragon's claw being better because of 3 colors, but just FYI Kor Firewalker can't be killed by a Pyroclasm because it's pro-red.

TMBRLZ says... #17

How to Remember Protection:

DEBT

  • Damage

  • Equip/Enchant

  • Block

  • Target

Pyroclasm is a red source that deals damage. Even though it is not explicitly targeting Kor Firewalker, since Kor Firewalker has Protection from Red and as a result cannot be dealt damage by red sources, Pyroclasm's damage to Kor Firewalker is negated.

This deck looks awesome man, so many creatures are a rarity for a control deck but this really looks like it could work. I just built a new ester control deck with the unbanning of Sword of the Meek and ancestral visions, check it out if you want, Esper Thoptersword Control

Thanks concamp I was wondering about Ancestral Vision, maybe for 1 of the mulldrifters

I heavily recommend running a boardwipe mainboard. Awesome idea!

April 7, 2016 4:23 p.m.

Draw_Wurm says... #23

Hey Nef. What do you think? Mutilate? I'm thinking of dropping the Slum Reapers for Victim of Night and side boarding in the shriekmaws against non-black non-artifact decks. We can tutor Mutilate with Muddle the Mixture if need be. Was also thinking a 4th path to exile and either a 4th myr superion or abyssal persecutor. Maybe for a liche.

April 7, 2016 4:30 p.m.

KaiserMTG says... #24

Cool deck +1. Myr Superion seems too good to not run 4 tho

April 7, 2016 5:06 p.m.

Nef says... #25

Mutilate can't be tutored with muddle as its cmc is 4. Also Mutilate may be lax luster as you have a decent amount of non-swamp lands. Damnation would be the safest bet but it's expensive. Supreme Verdict would be really good but I don't think it's reliable enough because you may have trouble generating double white.
