Best fucking name ever. Deck looks amazing and I don't really know what I can do to improve it. Maybe add in Quicken for an EOT Glimpse the Unthinkable ? Also Leyline of the Void should definitely be a sideboard card, and/or Tormod's Crypt . That's al I can suggest.

@UmbrotheUmbreon I have to be careful with Leyline of the Void and Tormod's Crypt since they hinder my draw power. Visions of Beyond is only at it's best with plenty of cards in their graveyard...that being said though...if a goyf comes out I wouldn't hesitate to exile their graveyard.

May I ask the exact purpose of Inquisition of Kozilek , or is it just there for the bear purpose of being a good card?
Otherwise, if you want an alternative plan to plainly milling your opponent out, may I suggest Jace's Phantasm

@Morality Well the general plan is for them to be milled out by t5 on average. It mostly runs as disruption. To eliminate so key early game pieces. I had considered running Thoughtseize over it but the loss of the life would do me in against more aggressive match-ups. Especially with the fetches pinging me for 1 when I crack them.
Jace's Phantasm is a wicked cool card. I had considered it as well but I decided to run draw and more mill over it. A 5/5 with flying for U is amazing, but I'd rather draw into something that had an immediate effect on either my hand, their hand/deck or the board state.

Allrighty, whatever floats your boat. I personally wouldn't run "inferior" mill like Breaking and would rather have a hardcore clock on the field. But seeing as you run snapcaster to mill more, I get what you mean.

Just checking the discussion, and I support the thought that adding Tormod's Crypt would be extremely beneficial to this deck. It's extremely strong against delvers and reanimators, and would be game breaking for artifact salvaging decks. At the very least I would sideboard it, as I feel the card is just too strong in a reasonable number of match-ups to ignore. That being said, this deck is absolutely brutal with how harshly it mills opponents. It's just terrifying. +1 from me

personally i'd ditch the snapcasters in favor of more mill. your missing cards like mind sculpt, tome scour, increasing confusion, dream twist, and of course Jace, memory adept. instead of the expensive fetches i put a playset of evolving wilds, they may only let you do basic lands but triggering hedron crab is all that matters. watch out for tron deck or people running leyline of sanctity. emrakul is no fun when playing mill

I'm running a very similar deck at weekly modern nights.
The card that I really gone back and forth over is Mesmeric Orb . What are your thoughts?

@picklesgarage The Snapcasters are pretty important for this deck. A deck that has nothing but mill cards will generally lose to aggressive decks 9 times out of 10. They provide versatility in the late game with letting me access nearly any card in my graveyard with their ETB effect as well as allowing me to block potential threats. While the Landfall trigger off Hedron Crab is important, the fetches allow me to do that and not set me back a turn on land drops. A t2 Polluted Delta compared to an Evolving Wilds is the difference between proc'ing a hedron crab and being able to Glimpse the Unthinkable .

@kazimirbaiame Honestly I've gone back and forth on that as well. It does provide a constant source of mill irregardless of what you draw. If they are playing spells then they are being milled. It's an interesting call because I don't like the fact of it eating through my deck as well. It may just be a personal opinion, but I really hate the feeling of seeing several potential useful spells hit the graveyard since I decided to play a spell. I'm on the fence with it as well. I personally don't have a copy of the card or I would try it out. Care to share some of your experiences with it?

All I can say is that there are 4 late game cards that I find have great combos for mill. Any combination of Consuming Aberration , Jace, Memory Adept , Lazav, Dimir Mastermind and Phenax, God of Deception all make a great combo.

I really like it. It's a competitive take on mill, the first I've seen. Have you ever considered adding a handful of counters, possibly Spell Snare or Remand ? I've found that just a few counters, maybe 2-3, will be enough to keep your opponent on their toes and play more defensively. My other suggestion would be to try and find a wrath effect in U/B that you like, as aggresive decks will run right past the small amount of removal in this deck.
+1 for competative milling

If you don't want to add some way to exile an opponent's graveyard, perhaps add Wight of Precinct Six to abuse the fact that your opponent's graveyard will be huge?
October 5, 2014 9:12 p.m.
I should rephrase my last comment. In matchups where you don't need to exile an opponents graveyard because they don't tend to cast from it, then perhaps add Wight of Precinct Six to punish them for the fact.

Duskmantle Guildmage + Mindcrank . That is all.

vishnarg, I would tend to disagree with that. All of the lands currently in this deck come into play untapped (Watery Grave
does require that you pay two life though), and Darkslick Shores
is only superior to any land is this deck early in the game, in which case it is better than basic lands and Watery Grave
. But that's only for about 2-3 turns of the game, and then it becomes a land that you have to wait a turn to use, and which can't be fetched by Polluted Delta
, Marsh Flats
, or Misty Rainforest
. And if basics are removed for Darkslick Shores
, the deck not only becomes weaker past turns 2-3 as mentioned, but becomes weaker against cards like Blood Moon
and Path to Exile
...
I'm not saying that Darkslick Shores
is a bad card, but rather that I don't think it fits into this deck any better than any of the other lands currently in here.

By the way, I'm not sure exactly what card you would switch out for it, but have you considered playing Broken Ambitions in this deck? Seems to me like it would give this deck a nice control splash without sacrificing mill power

why is oboro in here? that's usually used for landfall effect decks, just curious =)

Ah ok, yea... I guess I can see that. I see a lot more jund and pod and less affinity and twin. But yeah, no problem! Post your results. I hope it plays well for ya!
Yeah! Well, my most played and most help needed are my standard and modern decks.
Attention whores
Mill'ya come to the grave?
Would love any help or pointers!
