RunningPigeon: Its a slow combo, there are way more things i would rather do on turn 1, 2, and 3.

notanothercthulhu: thats actually a good idea. with the communes, i can easily fetch them (In addition to mountains i will run) i might actually go naya now!

my only problem would be that Simian Spirit Guide would bring up the price of the deck by alot. basically doubling it.

If you are putting this list together on MTGO it's only $.50

Or maybe you could just have some equippment that gives haste give it to the Guard. Then you pass, opponent does their stuff, and you make the tokens at the end of their turn, so they'll not be sick. What do you think?

CheeseBro says... #5

maybe, but all of the common haste equipments are pretty slow (Strider Harness and that one from theros that gives haste.)

Picked up this deck on MTGO... Pretty fun, but when you don't have an answer for Soul Warden you are screwed;) Even when you can't assemble the combo it seems to hold its own. I've been playing with adding red, will keep you posted.

maybe Sigil Blessing to beat Soul Warden?

or at least in sideboard?

Veteran Armorer might help with Pauper boardwipes, is it legal in pauper?

September 11, 2015 4:36 p.m.

It is, Good catch. Electrickery would be my first sideboard against this deck. Definitely worth SBing in if your opponent plays red.

ooh that would be good in sideboard! what do you guys think about Magnify or Ramosian Rally in sideboard? it beats Electrickery, Shrivel, and Soul Warden. i am also considering Veteran Armorer. one good thing about this is if they kill my tokens, i just combo the next turn.

September 11, 2015 4:59 p.m.

My only thought is Veteran can be pseudo tutored with the Commune cards. So IMHO it stands out as the best choice.

Also BTW I came across this article...

I prefer what you have going on here, but he has some interesting ideas.

hmm, that is interesting. Devoted Druid, Sigil of the Nayan Gods and Presence of Gond? interesting. certainly a fun combo, but it requires more pieces, so im not sure. also i dont know what to cut. i agree that Veteran Armorer is the best choice, but i am also trying to find ways to beat Soul Warden.

Good old fashioned hate. Now that I've added red I'm toying with adding some burn, but that means going deeper into red... Journey seems adequate, I put 2 more in my SB. I wish it was an aura.

thoughts on Echoing Courage?

September 11, 2015 5:29 p.m.

Could be good, the other variable I can think of is vs Crypt Rats so it might be best to think about getting the most pump you can. This card gives more than the others, but Crypt Rats does damage with an X so there are no guarantees.

Hve you considered adding one, or both, of the soul sisters for an alt win con?

I can tell you from experience that almost every deck scoops to infinite life.

Also Has the bonus of being a win on the same turn you combo off.

i currently have them in the maybeboard. i do not know what to take out, and what is the point of infinite life when you can not win with it. i will consider it though.

+1 love this, but you should definitely run naya with Impact Tremors and Surge of Zeal as easy wincons.

Have you considered Sprout Swarm Scatter the Seeds and more sigil blessing type cards as a beatdown wincon? There are a few pump by nuimber of creatures on the battlefield commons.

i actually have a deck based around the infinite combo as well. Except mine has a better win condition using Altar of the Brood. Check out The Infinity Deck

silverwolf5o: making it naya would either make it slower and less consistent or make it way more expensive.

lagotripha: what is the purpose of those cards in the deck?

Liveless1000: keep in mind this is pauper, if you can find a similar effect at common level, please suggest it and i will consider it.

September 14, 2015 10:37 p.m.

I'll be honest, after play testing with red, I don't see enough return on the cost or consistency to justify going Naya... possibly in modern. In order to make in worthwhile Impact Tremors needs to come out turn 1 or 2 in order to get the instant win turn 4. The spots taken up by red would be better spent on protecting the combo. Apostle's Blessing, Vines of Vastwood, or Ranger's Guile are some options I'd consider adding a few of in addition to Gods Willing. I put Spore Frog in my list vs Fog mainly because it's one more thing to snag with the Commune cards. I'm also not completely sold on Scion either, I think it's competing with the combo spots at 3 mana I wonder if some more ramp cards would be worth exploring. Getting Guard out turn 2 and Gond turn 3 should be the priority. It's a fun deck to play as is though, especially considering it was a dollar. I've had a few wins online in casual play.

I also happen to have made a presence of the midnight guard combo deck! check it out, Infinite everything! 30$ budget deck.

+1 from me!

Gaining infinite life is a pretty good win-con, imo. While it does not really 'win' you game, it does make an extremely large hill for your opponents to climb. Most people cant see the top and just forfeit.

I play abzan coco combo in modern. the only people who dont instantly scoop to gaining that much life are infect players and twin players.

I also think dropping the scions for soul wardens would increase your chances of living long enough to combo off vs aggressive decks
