Query, why not just use a fight spell like Prey Upon to counter an opposing Soul Warden? Better yet use Pit Fight.

Ive been playing this deck splashing red for a little while now and I just have to echo what people have been saying in that the Impact Tremors game plan was not worth the effort. That being said the red splash allowed for Lightning Bolt and some other nice removal which was a way to hold off the aggressive decks for a few more turns.

I am trying a variation now with blue which allows for counter protection and some more ways to manipulate your library from Ponder and the like to find the cards needed.

Still a very fun deck thank you for sharing +1!!

One comment- this deck dies ONLY when the opponents sweeper can hit -X/-3, which isn't even a thing in pauper. I know someone will prove me wrong, but I haven't seen the card yet. Anyways, if you say "make infinite tokens" or whatever, but have it so that the guard is untapped at the end, which he should be anyways, you can make an infinite supply of tokens, AT ANY TIME as long as it isn't your turn. So, Gods Willing is the right call. Just pointing out that sweepers aren't a problem :D Always wanted to make one with Court Street Denizen, but it takes too many pieces in my experience.

The sweeper that will crush this would be Pestilence

I play a mono black pestilence control deck and at least online the matchup with this deck goes my way ~75% of the time so far

i could add some Erase to sideboard... what do you guys think?

So I've been looking at this deck and I'm wondering wouldn't Auramancer be good in here? If you think about it commune with the gods makes the other 4 go in the grave so if you're hitting too many enchantments your losing at least one. The only reason I say to run Auramancer is because of Combajj witches.

NekrozKindOfBlue I was also kind of thinking about Auramancer ;)

that could be good...

CheeseBro just make sure to try to destroy Pestilence when they have no mana up, I've swept the board in response to disenchant effects before. If you let them untap their mana before you've drawn your answer then I don't think the answer will be able to save your board but it will make sure he uses Pestilence right then. After that its just who can get back on their feet quick enough.

CheeseBro That would be the answer to the answer if it was in the format.

+1 btw, this was my first deck online as the entry cost was nothing lol (in person having Hymn to Tourach is just too good to pass up)

What's so good about wirewood pride?

May 17, 2016 3:10 p.m.

Deanmon says... #20

@XshiniXgamiX: Wirewood Pride gives a creature +X+X equal to the amount of elves you control. With the ability to create infinite elves, you could have a creature with essentially infinite power and toughness. It's perfect for this deck.

@IzzetGod: Nice suggestions for Naya, although you're forgetting one: Druid of the Anima. This card is perfect for a Naya adaptation for this deck.

@CheeseBro: There were a few people who posted decks. I don't want to seem like I'm another person to try to replace the work you've done, but I have created a Naya version myself and with playtests, I can reach a win by turn 5-6 on average. It's mana consistent. I'll link the deck: Naya Army of Elves!

IzzetGod says... #21

Deanmon: Only issue there is what does it replace? I don't think it replaces Llanowar Elves because that comes down on turn 1 and if you don't have any interuptions/tap lands following; you can combo a turn earlier.

June 3, 2016 9:28 p.m.

Deanmon says... #22

@IzzetGod: It doesn't replace another creature. I only removed what I thought wasn't necessary, like Pacifism or Commune with Nature.

You already have the removal with Journey to Nowhere. Commune with the Gods is much better you need both Midnight Guard and Presence of Gond for this deck to get out its combo.

With the release of EMA, I have updated my version of the deck. Elvish Vanguard being common opens a lot of lovely doors in being able to have a backup for Wirewood Pride

Really love your Deck, so thx a lot man

+1 Vote.

One question though, is it useful to put in Might of the Masses instead of Wirewood Pride? Sure Wirewood Pride will give you +1/+1 for every elf in play, so if you happen to play against an elf deck, woohoo go crazy, but Might of the Masses takes advantage of every creature you control (not just elves), so i think it's more value in the early game, when you have not yet assembled your infinite token army (as in that moment both cards do the same),

Best of luck to all, and let pauper spread the world =)

jim-knopf88: sorry for the late reply, have been gone on a 5 week trip.I agree with might of the masses. I had not noticed that it does the same thing but better in most cases. Thanks for your interest in the deck!
