Play the nuisance 1/1 unblock-able Tormented Soul early. Meanwhile prep your graveyard with creatures for Varolz's scavenging with Grisly Salvage, Loleth Troll. When the time and cards are right. Use Corpsejack to double counters that you scavenge from Death's Shadow and place them on the unblock-able Tormented Souls. Protect Tormented Souls with Swiftboots if you need an insurance policy.

Early game play is managed with Gnarlwood Dryad, Diabolic Edict keeps opponents creature play at bay. Use raise the dead retrieve creature cards you miss on the draw.

It's the quiet ones you have to watch out for. George Carlin quoted that, but actually argued that it was bullship, because as he said, “I guarantee, while you’re looking out for the quiet ones, one of the loud ones will DUCKING KILL YOU!”.

Tormented Soul is the quiet assassin. However, like Carlin says, those other "Loud" creatures can get you too.
