If you use the lich's ability on something and it dies in the same turn, do you have to re-activate it's ability to re-cast it? You could run card:Yeva, Nature's Herald as a perpetual blocker. With Heartless Summoning , the deck would be a lot scarier too.
Gatecreeper vine isn't as useful as Borderland Ranger . Sure it chump blocks, but trading is still pretty important, especially in the current meta. Plus it gets nerfed by Crippling Blight which has been making consistent appearances in zombie aggro decks

Thanks for the feedback ghen. I'm thinking of having Vraska in at some point or maybe sideboarded to deal with rogue enchantments and artifacts like Rest in Peace or card:Tormod's Crypt but Naturalize definitely looks more reasonable, albeit a circumstantial one at that. Will consider it.
I picked Grimgrin, Corpse-Born because the sacrifice ability doesn't require anything, you can sac whenever you want, which makes recasting Snapcaster Mage s and Restoration Angel s a pinch.
Pretty sure the ability lasts on the creature card until the end of the turn, so you can cast it without having to pay the 1 mana again. card:Yeva, Nature's Herald definitely looks like an interesting choice... I can flash my Elderscale Wurm in without having to go all tapped out.
The reason I chose Gatecreeper Vine is because it's 1 mana cheaper, and it fetches gate cards as well, though you do have a point, trading while chump blocking is quite relevant.

Well if Naturalize isn't what you're looking for, you might want to give Abrupt Decay a try... it targets almost all the graveyard hate in the format at the moment, i can't think of anything it doesn't hit... even the grave-hating creatures... i'd also find better alternatives to Frightful Delusion , you'll need to add more lands maybe 5 and Dissipate has a high mana constraint. Even with the amulets and gatecreepers you might need some artificial ramping like the keyrunes and/or Gilded Lotus plus the additional lands to get the most out of this deck.
How often does this deck win? How does this deck win? I like the idea behind it, it looks weird and fun, but i don't think it's competitively viable... :-(

Ah yes. Abrupt Decay is definitely what I need. Going to have to replace my Frightful Delusion s with that. I have yet to playtest this extensively, but I got pretty good results from the ones I had. Played this deck in an FNM last week as well, albeit a very different version of it, the core game plan is similar though (but without Snapcaster Mage s, Grimgrin, Corpse-Born and various counter-spells, a very unrefined version to say the least. (Won 1, lost twice)
I usually win by bashing people in the face with Grimgrin / Resto Angels / creatures from the opponent's graveyard while keeping threats out with all the counter-spells at my disposal. Once, I had access to a Silverblade Paladin , paired it with my Restoration Angel , won shortly after that. Managed to scoop an Angel of Serenity at one point too, was hilarious. :P
Hoping to get similar results in the coming GPT for London. Will be play-testing it a bit more this Friday at the FNM as well.

At least the deck looks fun, i'd strongly suggest making the deck a lot faster, or possibly even making the opponent slower.

The deck underwent a huge overhaul. It's a lot faster now. :P Got my hands on 4x Pillar of Flame s too, so zombie decks, watch out! GPT tomorrow, will post results soon!

I like the idea, just don't think 20 lands is enough for you. I think you'd be better off just running 3 or 4 more lands and cutting out your Traveler's Amulet. Instead of having to pay 2 mana to find a land, you'd just draw one.

Thanks for the feedback KaraZorEl. I find that the card:Traveler's Amulet help a ton, I really couldn't see myself playing this deck consistently without them. I played 10 rounds today and only got into a tight spot with mana once. More often than not, the amulet helped me find that elusive island or swamp to cast Forbidden Alchemy or Undying Evil on the Gatecreeper Vine , triggering more lands. Besides, it's the 1-drop that I can play on turn 1.

If your going to try something like this, you really do need to invest in the mana base to support it.
Peddler combo is a good deck, no doubt; but you need a stronger mana base to keep it consistent.

My mana base is pretty consistent as it is. No need for shock lands since Gatecreeper Vine s can fetch me either basic lands or gates depending on the situation (gates if I haven't played a land and there isn't a playable spell in my hand during that turn anyway).
The card:Traveler's Amulet serves to further fix my mana base by giving me a decent 1-drop to play at turn 1/2, and it doesn't take up my land drops too. You can also keep mana open if you need to and then sac it before the next turn for the extra land.
Like I said earlier, I played 10 games 2 days ago, and only ran into mana issues once. Besides, Undying Evil and Restoration Angel help fetch you more lands with Gatecreeper Vine .
Then again, I'm sure the mana base can be better. Waiting for them guild-gates from Gatecrash! =)

i don't necessarily agree with running only 20 lands, especially because you're all five colors in this deck. why use card:Traveler's Amulet if there are cards like Farseek and even Caravan Vigil , that both cost less and put the land into play.

I considered those before but Farseek is only better if you have shock lands / another deck. I chose Gatecreeper Vine over it because I get a chump blocker while stabilizing my mana, it combos well with Undying Evil and Restoration Angel plus it gives me the option to pick either gates or lands depending on my needs.
Caravan Vigil is decent but card:Traveler's Amulet is far better for this deck simply because it is colorless. I can fix my mana right off the bat without having to rely on a specific color (Green). One can argue, why not just sack all my lands in favor of green and a single color of the other colors? As good as that sounds, that really hurt my choices when it comes to Forbidden Alchemy if I have to ditch one of them in the graveyard.

I love seeing people make combo decks. Maybe try fitting in Augur of Bolas or Disciple of Bolas . Either of those cards are pretty good. Also, Evolving Wilds are decent as well as Farseek . Maybe you could take out some of your gates for shock lands if you want to spend the money. Otherwise a great deck all around +1.

What's your answer to graveyard hate? You could force the opponent to prematurely activate card:Tormod's Crypt with something like Naturalize . It looks fun, but i think there are better options to grimgrin, maybe Slum Reaper as repeatable removal?
