Would any of the following cards be relevant?

Doubling Season

Growing Ranks

or maybe Collective Blessing though, that might not be a good suggestion.

Thanks for the suggestions, b287213.

Doubling Season is something I've considered, but it's unfortunately just too expensive for me.

Growing Ranks is just too slow and would be essentially strictly worse than an Awakening Zone in this deck.

Collective Blessing works well with the Spawns, but I've got another deck that's built around pumping Spawn tokens, so I want to keep this one focused on other things.

For kicks and giggles, Emmara Tandris to stop damage effects like Pyroclasm from wiping your board.

Lame_Duck says... #4

If my opponent is going to wipe my board, they'll do it long before I can get Emmara on to the 'field.

Well, technically not since you get a bunch of tokens to begin with. She really only costs GW. I'm grasping at straws here though.

I like your deck. How does it perform?

@b287213, the earliest I could play an Emmara Tandris is turn 4, which is too late to stop Pyroclasm or Volcanic Fallout or Anger of the Gods. She's a expensive solution and a fairly narrow one at that; she doesn't stop any of the non-damage board wipes from wrecking me. Plus she would require going into another colour. Board wipes are a problem for the deck and I would put some kind of answer to them into the sideboard if it wasn't already clogged full of my ridiculous combo.

@Fantastic_Mr_King, thank you. I've not tested the deck enough to really answer that question properly. As a preliminary assessment I'll say that it's kind of slow, more than a little bit clunky and has next to zero interaction with the opponent...so it's maybe not the best deck ever created or anything, but I've certainly been enjoying playing with it.

Have you ever thought about putting in the Urza lands. They would speed up the deck allot. (Urza's Factory, Urza's Power Plant, and Urza's Tower) If you did the 5ed cards are cheaper.

I have thought about it, but I decided it would put too much of a strain on my coloured mana requirements.

Utopia Sprawl for ramp, Parallel Lives for token spawning?

you mentioned cost so this might not be a great card for you... but put it in the maybe board? Or ask for it for Christmas? If you put in Parallel Lives in, It should help get out your Ezraldi- maybe even enough to get out Emrakul, the Aeons Torn (I suggest him mainly as a replacement for your other maybe boards- cause he's 10$ more, but way more wicked intense).

But in terms for cost what might be good for this deck Hand of Emrakul, who specifically only requires ezraldi spawn tokens to summon- even though he's the least bad ass of the mega Ezlardi-piss-off-your-opponents creature cards, He'd be perfect for this deck because he's still got annihilator and he's still a 7/7. I could see you getting him out on Turn 3. Which would ruin someone as Annihilator is more deadly the earlier on in the game.

Hope I helped!

I would recommend adding a "wishboard" full of Eldrazi that you can play with Spawnsire of Ulamog's 2nd ability. Might as well just use >$1.00 for it for an unbeatable win con. Of course only do that if sideboards are legal in Tribal Wars- I'm not very familiar with the format :3

thecakeisalie42, that's, unfortunately, not possible; you can't have sideboards in Tribal Wars, which means you can't wish for cards with the Spawnsire. My original design for the deck had a ridiculous win condition involving Cairn Wanderer, Changeling Berserker, Avian Changeling, Game-Trail Changeling, Mirror Entity and All Is Dust via Spawnsire of Ulamog's ability to create an infinity/infinity trampling hasty flyer.

09ALPHAROGUE, I've got another deck that uses Broodwarden and other cards to pump to Spawn; I want to keep this one focused on the combo.

What about Awakening Zone to get some continuous creation of dudes. Secondly how to you adjudicate the spawnsire's ability without a sideboard?

November 9, 2015 9:19 p.m.

Lame_Duck says... #16

Yeah, I've tried Awakening Zone before, but found it to be too slow and clunky. And you just can't use the Wish ability of Spawnsire of Ulamog without a sideboard; the Spawnsire is here for its first ability to go infinite with Mana Echoes.

Lame_Duck says... #18

Why? Without Pathrazer, the only win condition in the deck is Banefire, which would make it a lot less resilient and reliable.

November 10, 2015 8:33 p.m.

titanreaver says... #19

Well then why not just add a sideboard?

November 11, 2015 9:53 p.m.

Lame_Duck says... #20

Because sideboards aren't allowed in Tribal Wars.

Oh right duh. Sorry about that.

You could try Doubling Season. I know you're on a budget, but it's great in any deck that can run it, so you could probably use it elsewhere too. A friend of mine has a very planeswalker heavy deck with that, Oath of Nissa, Deploy the Gatewatch, etc. It seems gimmicky, but it works well because doubling the loyalty of your five color planeswalkers that you played for next to nothing is pretty great. Anyway, deck looks fun, take a look at doubling season for me and let me know what you think.

And with spawnsire, crypolith rite, and doubling season, you can go infinite by tapping and sacrificing AND if you have double doubling season, you can also go infinite. It's kind of perfect for a deck like this, I've only seen it work better in ramp hydra, where it is just OP. If it's in here it becomes way easier to hit your infinite combo. As for what to remove, I'd honestly drop the black bit, Catacomb Sifter isn't good enough to warrant a splash on its own.

Lame_Duck says... #25

Thanks for the suggestion, OBDog11, but I don't really agree with your assessment of Doubling Season. Firstly, it's way over budget and pretty limited in the types of deck it fits into; the deck has to be both heavy on the counters/tokens and either controlling or rampy enough that a 5-mana support card isn't just too slow. Secondly, I don't think it does very much to help the deck out; Cryptolith Rite + Doubling Season + Spawnsire of Ulamog is not an infinite combo because the Spawn tokens have summoning sickness and can't tap for mana on the turn they come into play. Doubling Season + Doubling Season + Spawnsire of Ulamog does go infinite but even then it's a 3 card combo that only creates infinite mana and 0/1s and needs a fourth card to actually turn it into a win, which is just so unreliable. Plus Doubling Season is a lot worse than Mana Echoes for actually generating enough mana to get Spawnsire of Ulamog into play and I can't replace the Catacomb Sifters with a non-Eldrazi card because then the deck wouldn't have enough Tribal creatures to be legal for the format.
