My attempt to make a Standard version of my I've Got Arachnusphobia Again! and I've Got Arachnusphobia! decks with the M13 stuff...before the M12 goodies like Arachnus Spinner leave Standard!
This still has its primary focus on Spiders, and still ultimately revolves around Arachnus Spinner and its Arachnus Webs locking down the board. Unlike past versions, though, this one focuses not on the janky and potentially clumsy idea of counters (good +1/+1s for you and -1/-1s for the opponent), but instead on straight-out mana acceleration and swarming.
Of course, there's more to it than just that. Mwonvuli Beast Tracker can help pluck a critical creature from this deck when you need it, able to pull any Spider (or a versatile Acidic Slime). Ulvenwald Tracker is always good, but especially when you've got so many high-toughness Spiders to combo with. And Yeva, Nature's Herald can make for all kind of combat hijinks, like perhaps dropping a Blightwidow or Deadly Recluse in front of a key creature coming at you.
Speaking of combat tricks, there's a small but potent arsenal of them here. Overrun is always a good potential finisher, even with creatures like these that are sometimes lacking in the straight out power department. Rancor can always help out with a nice persistent power boost...Spiders like Sentinel Spider or the aforementioned Blightwidow make especially good targets. But perhaps the nastiest trap you can spring is Revenge of the Hunted, which can turn one of your high-toughness arachnids into an eight-legged monstrosity. The miracle cost can be a great surprise, but sometimes it might be even better to save it and pay full cost at the most opportune moment, slapping it on Blightwidow or the like when the opponent's creatures are all tapped out. Mwaha! :-D
