No, I meant that Schismotivate was lacking dmpv01, all due in part to it's double targeting. So I replaced it with Psychotic Fury and brought down my cmc to an even 2.

how do you target your own monsters with clout of dominus, both monsters are blue, both monsters will have shroud if the aura is attached to them.

When Catch / Release is in your graveyard, does it count as 2 soceries for the purposes of Spellheart Chimera ? because if not you can likely get more use out of Goblin Electromancer to help make sure you can cast counters, or maybe Quicken to double up on that serum visions

I'd consider dropping Riverfall Mimic for one of the many other good Izzet creatures, namely: Nivmagus Elemental , Nivix Cyclops , and Wee Dragonauts (dragonauts is probably your best bet since it benefits from Psychotic Fury and has built in evasion and pump)

When playing a card stereonoise, is to remember that the effects that come into play when a card resolves go top to bottom, not all at once. So the creature is enchanted first, then it gets +1/+1 and shroud if it's blue, and then it gets +1/+1 and haste if it's red.
The dual cards don't count as two cards sexistpicnic. As Remand won't return half a card and Goblin Electromancer only lowers it down once, not twice. Also, Goblin Electromancer doesn't really work in this deck because I don't have very mana instances of colourless mana in this deck. Therefore it doesn't have very good uses to it. Also, Quicken isn't very good either, it might have seen standard play but it won't see modern play. I would rather run Sleight of Hand if I wanted to run an 8stack of draw. Which I don't.
This is a control deck Saljen, not an aggro deck. All the choices you made won't work in this build as I'm not casting spells on my turn. I'm casting them on my opponent's turn to control their board. Riverfall Mimic has better synergy because it is cheaper, and has the best evasion. At most I'm only playing one spell on my side a turn, and it procs even to permanents like Spellheart Chimera or Clout of the Dominus , something which the other cards don't. I also removed Psychotic Fury for Muddle the Mixture as I had no use for a situational card over a card that has much better viability in any situation.

Gifts Ungiven
.
Better choice than Steam Augury
, unless you're playing it for being dual color i guess.

Steam Augury is better in this build for a variety of reasons franciscogil90.
- I don't have a perfect Gifts Ungiven package.
- Steam Augury buffs Riverfall Mimic .
- Steam Augury has the potential to buff Spellheart Chimera more than Gifts Ungiven does.
- I can draw lands, which is quite important actually.
- I have the potential to draw doubles, which means I am guaranteed to get that card.
- The decision is much more difficult for my opponent as I an pit 4 cards or a 1 card choice on them.
- Potential to have a much better hand state after-wards.
- Harder for my opponent to guess what I'm going to do or what is in my hand with a random draw of 5.

Check the updates before making a suggestion please Lissa. I removed it because it was too slow.

I added a Stolen Identity to my blue n red control deck... I combine it with a few Goblin Electromancer 's so I can cast it earlier but that's not essential. And if you cipher it onto Riverfall Mimic you got a nice combo

That is way too convoluted and slow for modern RickySmith123. It isn't even a combo much less synergy of a few cards, because the Riverfall Mimic doesn't actually become unblockable in enough time since the token is produced AFTER damage is already done.

Really nice deck!! I definitly like the strategy behind it but wouldnt having either Mana Leak or Rune Snag be beneficial for you? I would think Rune Snag be an amazing spell to have a play set of because as you cast more of them they get more likely to be hard counters agaisnt opponents as the game goes on. Also Magma Jet might be a card to consider as well to help with the scry effects. Another card i myself love is Electrolyze because it is so versitile and it replaces itself so your always able to get a new awnser.
The only thing i would really think your sideboard would need is 1-2 Counterflux and i know you said you dont like 3 drop counter spells but why not one that cant be stopped? And if you pay one more its shutting down storm decks very nicely
Im definitly going to +1 this deck but would you mind taking a look at my izzet deck and giving your opinion on it? Im finding im lacking a solid sideboard and might be missing a few key mainboard spells.
The deck is "Izzet" modern ready? if you take a look and +1 or give suggestions much apreciated. If not i completely understand

Well, I've kinda changed the deck around. I hadn't touched this in a while, and the score/views ratio shows it. Thanks for the suggestions on Mana Leak , Counterflux and Electrolyze , Jamesfurrow. I needed something to replace the Echoing Truth s and Catch / Release s as they weren't cutting it.
However, Magma Jet and Rune Snag aren't worth it. I already have Izzet Charm , and it has a lot more utility than Magma Jet , and no list wants to run 4x Rune Snag , because you'll need the room for other counterspells, and they are easily prevented thanks to all the graveyard hate.

I have an izzet deck as well that also uses Spellheart Chimera. I have considered Clout of the Dominus before. How good have you found it? Deprive is something to consider but I am starting to dislike the land return and I may remove it from my list.

Clout of the Dominus is very important in making sure your Spellheart Chimeras aren't weakened by Scavenging Ooze, can dodge removal, and can't be triple chumped to death by Lingering Souls. It also works really nicely as a surprise attack if you have both it and a chimera in hand. Beyond that it counts as 2 devotion for Keranos, God of Storms.
Deprive isn't good for modern. It's nice in EDH, but that's the only place it is good in. You are better off running Remand or Mana Leak.
March 29, 2015 3:06 a.m.
Is it worth running Clout of the Dominus when Spellheart Chimera is my only threatening creature though? And I agree with you about Deprive. One card I like to run is Mizzium Skin. But it probably wouldn't help you out as much here since you don't have Young Pyromancer.

Shroud is very important when the Chimera is within bolting range. And like I said, Scavenging Ooze.

I see the point of that. The probability of getting to combo Schismotivate with Psychotic Fury while very potent, would be too low. It is an attractive possibility, though.
