True true. I like your inclusion of Riverfall Mimic in here. It gives the deck a surprise factor and it seems to be efficient. I went with Frostburn Weird because that and a Clout of the Dominus gives enough loyalty for Keranos to become a creature. The weird is also a more aggressive Wall of Omens where as it has offensive pressure but I don't get the extra card draw.

What if the opponent plays a creature with pro red.
For example: Phyrexian Crusader.

Then Counterflux goes in. But like, no one ever runs Phyrexian Crusader. The biggest pro-red creatures that are used are Auriok Champion and Kor Firewalker, which are both 2 cmc, meaning they are ample Spell Snare targets.

I see what you're saying. Maybe I'm trying to hard to be prepared for any possible situation xD

Allow me to recommend Melek, Izzet Paragon and Djinn Illuminatus. These both allow replicate, which I think would be a good addition to your deck.

And I almost forgot to put Arcane Melee and Goblin Electromancer (sorry for spamming a little

None of those cards are modern playable Halphinian. Goblin Electromancer is the closest, but that is in storm. And this ain't storm.

Were you saying that Clout of the Dominus counts as 2 devotion?

April 6, 2015 8:42 p.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #9

Yes, yes it does. Hybrid cards count as 1 of each colour of devotion that the hybrid represents. So in this case, 1 cmc hybrid cards grant 2 devotion.

It actually doesn't sadly. Blizzicane recently informed me of this. I don't have the links to the rules though.

From Gatherer: 4/26/2014: Your devotion to two colors is equal to the number of mana symbols that are the first color, the second color, or both colors among the mana costs of permanents you control. Specifically, a hybrid mana symbol counts only once toward your devotion to its two colors. For example, if the only nonland permanents you control are Pharika, God of Affliction and Golgari Guildmage (whose mana cost is B/GB/G), your devotion to black and green is four. :3

Golgari Guildmage is a horrible example, but whatever. The really should have used a one drop as to not silently confuse people, like me.

I know it cost an arm and a leg (in dollars that is) but have you tried Cryptic Command? Decks like grixis control play it as at least a 2-of due to its sheer power and versatility. It seems like it would fit great here since you'll have an easy time hitting UUU than a 3 color deck will.

I have Cryptic Command in paper BlatantLizard, however it doesn't work with this deck as this deck works similar to that of delver, but is weaker in all regards.

No Snapcaster Jace? Jace, Vryn's Prodigy. I know in this particular build you would potentially weaken some of your creatures, but the other utility he provides is pretty great.

I'd play Snapcaster Mage before I'd play Jace. But I'm not going to bother playtesting that in a casual deck.

Judging by the only deck on zach48985's profile, I'm guessing he's either a troll or is new to modern/mtg in general.

Like I would be playing this deck anyways. You might as well as call it scrapped because it hasn't held any relevance in modern for a long time.

But then again, there's always a total deck change.

And now this deck works a lot better than I gave it credit for. Early game aggro followed by late game control. It seems to be my second most powerful creation for some odd reason, as it beats every other deck I've made but The O-Ring Effect, and still comes pretty damn close.

March 3, 2016 11:42 p.m.

Izzet coming as a surprise to you that this deck did so well?
