Decklist updated —Jan. 31, 2016
Several changes have been made to make the deck more consistent. I still have to do more testing with the latest Commander mulligan rule update, but I'm pretty happy with the current performance. I still need to do more testing in a competitive environment, which I'm hoping to do over the next month or so. As always, feel free to leave suggestions on the current list, maybeboard, or anything else I've overlooked or missed.
Sorry, I was wrong grasshopper021. According to the Gatherer, Treasure Cruise and Dig Through Time are legal in Commander/EDH, although I don't know for how much longer.

I don't see either card being banned. While good, these are not cards that are totally imbalanced or warp the format around them, which is typically the criteria for bans in EDH.
EDIT: I should also mention Treasure Cruise was in my initial build, but I found it often being stranded in my hand early game along with Dig Through Time, and in the interest of minimizing that I'd rather only run Dig Through Time since it's the better of the two cards.

I feel like you might not need Lightning Greaves, as you don't really have much that you really need to protect. On that same note you could probably cut some of the countermagic, as there are very few cards that are entirely detrimental to your strategy. I have a Mizzix of the Izmagnus deck a lot like this (http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/mizzix-shenanigans-1/) except I don't really have access to some expensive cards that I would like to be running, but I have been consistently using Ignite Memories as a win condition, and so far it has worked out well for me. I use it over Grapeshot because generally mana is not an issue, with all your rituals and acceleration, and it deals much more damage than Grapeshot, for which you would need to get an incredibly high storm count, as Commander is traditionally multiplayer. Also one last thing: I do not think Impulse is paticularly on the power level that the whole rest of your deck is on; I think Rhystic Study would be more effective in getting gas.

I'm kind of feeling the same way on the Lightning Greaves. Every time they're in my hand I would rather just hold up counter magic or play some other spell.
Regarding the amount of countermagic, I like having about 6-7 in the deck which I've found lets me see at least 1 per game, but I don't get flooded with them. So far, each counterspell has been selected because it either advances my game (Remand, Rewind), is the most cost-efficient for the effect (Arcane Denial, Swan Song, Pact of Negation) or has a strong additional ability (Muddle the Mixture, Spell Burst). I will need to swap something for Force of Will in the coming days, so one of those may get the axe, possibly Rewind.
I'm preferring Grapeshot over Ignite Memories for two reasons. I've been a part of games where Ignite Memories has seriously whiffed or couldn't knock out the problem decks at the table, plus Grapeshot can also double as removal (sometimes multiple targets) if you draw it before you're ready to go off/infinite.
Rhystic Study is a strong option, but I'm not sure I'm ready to drop Impulse. It's usually to dig 4 cards deep and put one in hand, and really I'm going for tutoring/filtering over raw card draw. Also with Rhystic Study it's not always guaranteed card draw, since I know even in my kitchen-table meta I don't often get to draw before it's removed.
Thanks again for the suggestions notdraftthendie. It's discussions like these I need to help me think about what each card is really doing to accomplish the overall game plan for this deck.

I see your point about Grapeshot, especially since you have the capability to go infinite. I also see your point about Impulse, although there is the upside on Rhystic Study of disrupting your opponents' curves.
About the countermagic: The only cards (in my opinion) that can really keep your deck from going off are Leyline of the Void/Rest in Peace, which not all decks play, Leyline of Sanctity, which both poses a threat to everyone else and also can be sidestepped using Guttersnipe or Laboratory Maniac, and Spirit of the Labyrinth which dies to Lightning Bolt or a Grapeshot without storm.

I would suggest Omniscience and Whispers of the Muse. You just win if you play omni with whispers.

Random question: do you think Disciple of the Ring has any place in this deck as a utility creature, or would it just be cute since the deck aims to go off? I'm working on a similar deck but it's still in its drafting stage

I was running the Omniscience + Petals of Insight combo for a while as an alternate infinite storm source, but it really only slows the deck down since there is no way to cheat Omniscience into play.
Regarding Disciple of the Ring, the plus sides are a few decent abilities and a bigger blocker than Mizzix by herself, but the casting cost and exile limitation (hits us right in the cards we need) make it not a good fit for this build. I could see a more control-oriented build wanting to run this.

Yea, that's what I wasn't sure about, but I wasn't sure since I haven't been able to test yet. Thanks!

I normally skip over lower scored decks when looking around (unless I'm serious) but seeing my favorite Daretti player going my new favorite deck is too hard to miss.
I would argue against losing lightning greaves. I go back and forth on it myself but Mizzix quickly becomes the target when people play with you more then once. I never knew a 2/2 was so easy to murder until this deck.
I personally run a Chaos Mizzix (thief's auction, scrambleverse, hive mind, eye of the storm, warp world, ect) so I can't help too much but I was slowly looking into editing the deck around and making a Karona chaos instead, making mizzix more compeditive.
With the new EDH rules, I would throw Bribery in there (or at least buy a few). Acquire as well but 5 drop to steal an artifact in a deck..unless they run Blightsteel lol is pretty meh.

grasshopper021, I believe Treasure Cruise and Dig Through Time are both banned in all external formats.
