I would have Magma Jet as a four-of. It's a really powerful card, and it tends to be much more useful than Lightning Strike unless you plan on killing by direct damage.

I was actually running 4 Magma Jets. Unfortunately, Magma Jet's dinky 2 damage can't kill the crap-ton of creatures the people I play against use.

I also run an izzet control deck, and if your meta is anything right now i'd mainboard a couple Anger of the Gods It can be really helpful early on, and can wreck super fast aggro.

What kind of change are you looking for? Do you want to beat people up with more creatures or do you want to burn their faces off?

If you want to beat em up, I would look into creatures like Nivix Cyclops for protection turned to beats and having maybe Thassa, God of the Sea to make your creatures unblockable.

If you want to burn their faces off, more Turn / Burn , add in something like Satyr Firedancer and get Lightning Strike in there.

Only reccomendation is -1 Cyclonic Rift -1 Izzet Charm -1 Magma Jet +3 Dissolve to counter the counter they used to counter your counter that was used to coutner their counter on your counter and if you followed that well done:)

+1 Just don't know about Jace, Architect of Thought . It kind of randomly gives you chances and opportunities in your draw. I don't necessarily like leaving things to chance. But oh well. I do like the layout of the deck and yes, that foil Niv-Mizzet is awesome looking. I have a foil Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind , just need the foil Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius

What do you think of keranos? I feel like once he comes in, he'll be a better win con then niv mizzet. Just my opinion.
