It's a tough choice, I attended to a modern tournament one time at a store, where everyone was super-competitive and I managed to go 1/4 at least. But the problem is, that nearly every deck ran either tier 1 removal (Fatal Push, Abrupt Decay, etc.) or is extremly fast, I lost to a Naya deck that killed me turn 4, even though i had the combo in my hand. The only deck I won against was a Jeskai Control like deck. I'd definitly say it depends on the type of decks, the guys at you LGS play. If they aren't always tier 1 and if they don't bother you too much until Turn 3-5, you can definitly try it out, altough I wouldn't say you should put too much hope behind it. This deck is meant to be fun :) Hope I could help you.
