Empty the Warrens is your only win con? What happens when that gets countered or someone wipes your tokens? You need to have snapcasters and burn in there. You have red in your deck without bolt in the mainboard? Not trying to be a downer or anything, just seems like a pretty thin premise for modern. Everyone has answers to everything so you need to be able to win in a way they won't see coming. If you're casting all of these spells at once you should have Monastery Swiftspear or Young Pyromancer. Rift Bolt Electrolyze would help you

It is a very viable archetype and has been around for a long time, which leads me to believe you haven't played modern for that long. Your ideas are good but not really suited to a deck like storm. You seem to be confusing this with a Delver / Burn deck

Yeah did totally overlook Grapeshot, that's why I was confused. Makes much more sense now lol, totally changes everything. Yeah I've only been in modern for about maybe 6-7 months now, the shops I play at are pretty crowded with "top tier decks" so I don't see as many of the more fringe archetypes, literally every deck is Infect, or Dredge, or Affinity, etc. Its pretty annoying actually. I just thought his deck relied on one card to get the kill, Grapeshot makes this deck pretty beast.

I got Gifts Ungiven from a MM17 pack, never noticed that card before (especially since banned in EDH) and was looking at some decks that run it... and then I found your deck.
I love Izzet, I love storm... and this decks looks very very nice.
Could you inform me about what are good / bad match-ups for you? ANd how do you usually pilot the deck?
Anyway +1 from me

The idea is to stick one of the cost-reducer guys (Baral, Chief of Compliance or Goblin Electromancer) as soon as possible and then cast a Gifts Ungiven.
The cards you generally want in your first Gifts are Desperate Ritual, Pyretic Ritual, Manamorphose, and Past in Flames. From there it's super easy to go off, cast Gifts again, and repeat until your storm count is high enough to Grapeshot them.

Echoing Truth is basically a catch-all for hate cards. If they have a Leyline of Sanctity or a Rest in Peace, it can get rid of it (usually on opponent's end step before I want to combo).

I think that 3 Baral, Chief of Compliance and 4 Goblin Electromancer would be a better decision, since Baral is legendary.

I've thought about that a lot but it's usually a bad idea to spend mana on a second cost-reducing creature instead of other spells. Usually, if I draw an extra Baral, Chief of Compliance or Goblin Electromancer, I'll happily hold on to it in case my opponent has removal.

I've had some experience with this deck, and I've found cutting one goblin electromancer in place of a remand helps consistency, combo potential, and helps not flood out with baral effects.

Have you tried running Simian Spirit Guide instead of the Remand? I've found that a lot of the time the card that I counter with Remand gets played again on the same turn. Spirit Guide helps combo off early (Turn 1 with bonkers hand and turn 2 pretty consistently)

I don't really think Simian Spirit Guide fits the deck that well. It's a net gain of one mana for one card (equivalent to a full-cost ritual) and it can't get you that mana again after you cast Past in Flames.
Oh and exiling SSG from your hand doesn't increase your storm count either.

I understand that. In the meta at my LGS the 1 extra mana allows me to go off even quicker. Just figured I would run it by you.

Love the Peer through Depts in here, +1 from me!! Not a huge fan of the bouncing strategy in the SB though. Ever tried Wear/Tear against the standard hate aka Relic/Leyline/Grafdigger etc? I'm pretty satisfied with that so far.

I'm pretty new to storm, but what does Gifts ungiven add to the deck? Also do you ever run out of cards in your hand?
June 2, 2017 9:19 a.m.
With Gifts Ungiven you can tutor for Manamorphose, Past in Flames, Desperate Ritual and Pyretic Ritual. The rituals increase your available mana, Manamorphose draws cards and fixes your colors and Past in Flames allows you to cast everything a second time. Because Past in Flames has flashback your opponent can only make bad choices. The deck has enough draw in it, so the goal is to make a huge stormcount and then use Grapeshot (or Empty the Warrens) for the kill

While it is slightly less effiecient in the beginning of the game, you might actually prefer Curious Homunculus Flip to baral. You only have 2 counterspells unless I missed something, so you would probably get more value out of post flip Voracious Reader Flip. It usually can flip fairly quickly in my experience.

Good deck, though I am more of a cheerios kind o player. I would add more Remands and maybe some fetch lands. Good work
