Brainstorm is a common in it's orginal printing
Grixis Panorama is another common terramorphic expanse
what decks are you playing against that you need so many Blazing Volley type cards?
Lava Spike with Desperate Ritual spliced onto it is infinite damage with the guildmage.
Treasure Cruise is a common and great
Arcane Denial might be better than cancel
Looks really fun! Clever idea and well put together deck, I have a Jori En, Diving on a Budget deck that's running on a budget and could use another izzet mage's eyes on it if you have the time. Thanks!

Thank you very much for your input :) I didn't feel too strongly about Brainstorm with my minimal amount of deck shuffling and less thrilled about copying it. I'd like your thoughts on the matter.
Thank you for the tip with Lava Spike and Desperate Ritual. If you don't mind could you slowly walk me through the specific way to go infinite? Just to make sure I'm doing it right. I'll throw that in the deck for sure.
As for the creature wipe spells I figured they are pretty strong so I might want all 3 for consistentcy sake. What are your thoughts on it?
And lastly, what cuts would you suggest to fit those cards? Maybe one of the creature wipes and a normal damage spell.

So the combo, cast Lava Spike and splice Desperate Ritual onto it. Splice onto arcane is goofy but basically what it does is add the effects of the card with splice onto the original arcane spell. So you get a spell that says "deal 3 damage to target player, add " Now copy that spell with the guildmage and you have infinite damage!
maybe cut void snare, flame rift, vision skeins, words of wisdom, smash to smithereens. Some combination of this stuff.
Brainstorm isn't great copied, I'll give you that. but it is a strong card by itself and worse case it's draw a card.

Oh wow that makes sense now. The text is changed on the spell so copying it grabs everything, neat! I like the idea of adding Dizzy Spell to make it a main combo.
And yea I agree with those cuts thank you.
I'll have a look at your list soon.

with the new combo in the deck, would adding more recursive spells like Archaeomancer be good or too clunky? I think a little too much.

It's probably better than izzet chornarch, and I kinda like like it in general cause of your loot draw effects. Get you good spells back.
Also I think Capsize is a common

Displace and Peregrine Drake would give you infinite mana too if I'm not completely off the rail... The Drake should be Pauper legal although I am not familiar with Pauper EDH!

Thanks for the suggestion! I love the drake flicker combo with something like Archaeomancer however for this specific deck I feel it would be to clunky. The pieces wouldnt help outside the combo. I think 2 combos is fine :)

It relies on creatures which doesnt happen enough to validate it

How do you think League Guildmage would do as an alternate commander? It has the same ability that works with your combo (or am I trippin?) but also allows you to draw a card on its own.

Hey man, League Guildmage can't win via combo because it taps! Probe is a fine include, but Whispers isnt worth copying over things like Ponder etc. also this list hasnt been touched in awhile so go easy on its content ^_^'

Eye of Nowhere is a second combo with Desperate Ritual it won't win the game but it can bounce the whole field of each opponent which is hard to recover from (it can bounce lands).
Crack the Earth would be possible as well but I don't really suggest it unless one can generate a lot of tokens (more permanents on the field than your opponents).

Great deck pal! I've played a lot of izzet pauper and I've found Aftershock to be my best removal. It's really versatile and the drawback is minimal.
