Another $100 budget 2-color control deck I made. Looks rather solid, but I accept suggestions!
WIN CONDITIONS
Keranos, God of Storms Such a great card, drawing twice or firing off a free Lightning Strike. Will next to never become a creature, but it doesn't need to.
Pearl Lake Ancient Big beater that comes in with Flash and can save itself? Hop on in.
Prognostic Sphinx Time has proven it's great, and it's cheap!
CONTROL PACKAGE
Lightning Bolt and Magma Jet are this deck's selected cheap burn spells, catching early drops or going for finish in some cases. Most of the time, though, will be taking a creature down.
Fated Conflagration is this deck's way of dealing with Planeswalkers. Not 100%, but can get the job done. Was an arguement between this and Clever Impersonator, but I went with this. Helped fit other cards into the budget also.
Anger of the Gods is our board wipe vs. Aggro, since otherwise this deck would get completely murdered by them.
AEtherspouts helps with the above also, but also against some other aggressive decks such as midrange. Just a nice field reset that requires them to waste draws and helps us know what is coming.
Disdainful Stroke and Dissolve are our counterspells. Disdainful helps a lot in the control mirror nab their threats, but is namely here for the midrange match up. Dissolve is a solid, all around counterspell.
Mindswipe Can close out a game with a huge 6-burn, or simply be the 9th main deck counterspell.
OTHER
Dig Through Time and Steam Augury are our draw spells. With Jace, Dig becomes even easier to cast. It being instant is amazing, making the opponent not know what to expect with my open mana. It also digs deep, getting what we need from the top 7. Steam is a budget choice as 2 more Digs would put me well over 100, but is still good instant draw power, though perhaps Jace's Ingenuity would be better.
Jace, the Living Guildpact Great for setting up draws, bouncing annoyances, and fueling graveyard for Dig.
Chandra, Pyromaster Kills a lot of the aggro decks, as well as combos amazing with Jace. Jace sets up the top deck, Chandra utilizes it.
