I wanted to build a storm deck, but didn't want to go with the same Veyran, Voice of Duality shell that is being used all over the place. I did pull a Veyran from a booster, so she is in the 99, but I wanted another commander.

to give a summary of the deck's plan if you didn't read the reddit post above this is a deck full of small spells that draw cards as per usual for a storm deck. it also has a pile of cards that deal damage to all opponents when a instant/sorcery are cast.

the trick/fun of this deck is that it is also full of stuff that hands out creature types like Runed Stalactite, Captain's Hook, Wings of Velis Vel, etc. these crads make the pinger suite into... pirates! with Malcom and Breeches, these "pirates" give us value whenever they ping! for example, Thero-Alchemist taps, does 1 damage to each opponent. with the partners on the field, this exiles the top card of each enemy library and creates 3 treasures. then i cast a spell and the alchemist untaps. rinse and repeat. if you can get any one of these combos (any pinger with any method of making it a pirate, plus your commander on the field), you just start throwing down cantrips to generate treasure and draw cards until everyone is dead.

if you're going to die to a storm deck, at least it's a goofy jank deck with shapeshifting pirates
