Control Burn? That's a thing? You bet it is, especially with THIS god. A worthy deity for the Izzet, don't you think? I sure do. So let's get this started.

The first hurdle I'm going to face when this becomes playable is the difficulty of striking a balance between control and burn. I want to use a combination of counters and burning to keep the board clear and the pressure on. Against other control decks I want to keep their threats under control until I can drop Keranos with a counter to back him up. Against midrange I want to keep their big threats from getting too big. Against aggro, my goal is simply to survive.

But wait, you're saying. Why would you waste your burn on their creatures? How will you win? That's an easy one. Keranos is the win con. If he sticks, and I can protect him from shuffle effects and exile, I've won, it's only a matter of time. He turns even the lowly divination into a burn.

Now you're saying 'Five mana sure is a lot'. It can be, especially without ramp, but hopefully I can keep the board under control while I build.

We'll see how it goes this may!

Obtained a third Jace, Architect of Thought and cut one Divination to fit him in. With Dakra Mystic, Izzet Charm, and the Jaces, I feel two Divination should be fine. Preparing for playtesting this friday with proxies with my playgroup to see if I need AEtherling or Ral Zarek. Both are tempting, but I fear taking out too many of the essential control cards to fit them in.
