Thrashing out some ideas for an Izzet control deck built from the Theros Standard pool of cards.

The strategy? Counterspells and burn to maintain control of the board with scry and draw effects to add card advantage and increase the odds of a favourable draw. Board wipes from Cyclonic Rift or Mizzium Mortars overloads. Finishers come from Spellheart Chimera, Thassa with additional late game card advantage from Mercurial Chemister.

Sideboard is geared up to provide more counters, more burns or more damaging creatures to suit the opponent's strategy.
