+1 from me! This deck is a work of art and very very fun to play. I put it together and took it to game day today proudly wielding the IZZET banner when no one else would. I had limited success but never an issue with the deck, people never missed a beat today and everyones decks performed really, really well. It does struggle in the current meta for standard but it is just too much fun to pass up, I went 2-3 with this deck and i will continue to use it for the foreseeable future :) nice one,

@Nikolai204 your sideboard needs some slight improvement don't ya think? It seems as though you put random pieces of the MB into your sideboard. Have you thought about other decks that you would be facing because your sideboard doesn't look like it helps in those situations. But great deck! I gave it a +1 a week ago.

Nikolai1204 I played this deck at fnm. Very high potential. The main issue I ran into was the draw. How do you improve your draws? I was Mullin down to 4 or 5 every round. That first hand seems very tempo..

@Doomed_Traveler77I also took this deck to FNM and i went 4-1 beccause i took out 2 Divination and 1 Swan Song for 3 Izzet Charm. it helped with card draw and unnecessary cards i didn't need.

I'm in love with Swan Song though, they go to play their god vs your one mana, nope.jpg

twonickelsandadime I don't think Swan Song would work against a god...

gods count as both enchantments and creatures, no?

Swan Song would certainly work against a God, Doomed_Traveler77. Gods are Enchantment Creatures - so they are, in fact, enchantments.

Yeah, which is why I see Swan Song going up in price a lot after rotation, with a lot of the format being enchantment creatures.

Nice to see other players who enjoy playing the Izzet colour's. How do you feel this deck works for your local stores Meta game?I like the concept but worry the pace of this deck is too slow to work in the current Meta or at least I feel although this deck at my local store really wouldn't quite cut the mustard. I also feel that having a strong win condition such as AEtherling kind of makes the small amounts of burn damage from creatures like Guttersnipe a little irrelevant.
I feel personally (Having tried a very similiar deck to this myself) that Guttersnipe and Spellheart Chimera often feel very lack luster and weak. More often then not, they just eat cheap 3 toughness removal spells and don't allow you to stabilize even if they do stick or do they do sufficient damage before they're delt with to secure the game.
Young Pyromancer 's are great, they give great chump blocking value and come down at a competitive time.I really feel like you would have much better results by upping your Young Pyromancer to 4, dropping spellheart chimera in favor of 4x Frostburn Weird , dropping Thassa, God of the Sea , dropping the 4 Guttersnipe and replacing with 4 Turn / Burn .If you really like the concept of running a counter burn based victory, I would in all honesty not bother with the AEtherling 's at all and add in Turn / Burn in it's place. If your especially keen on this type of victory I would also consider using Nivix Cyclops too. Just be careful changes to your creature pool don't dilute the amount of spells because that is after-all the focus of this deck.

@andrehziinhu I would highly recommend playtesting the deck if you haven't. It's true that you don't have as many instants and sorceries in this deck as you'd see in other Izzets but I think that a strong creature balance may be what they were missing to make them a competitive deck. Young Pyromancer handles your blocking while Guttersnipe and Spellheart Chimera tear apart your opponent. Like I said, I'd recommend playtesting because then you'll see the momentum this deck can build. I also am standing by my ban on Izzet Charm for reasons I explain in a comment or two above. I like Shock 's ability to hit players for one which is why I insist on running them.
