My newest Izzet Tempo build:
Young Pyromancer, Hammer of Purphoros, and Spellheart Chimera as Win Conditions. This deck wants to play more efficiently than the opponent, using all of my mana every turn to make a huge board while disrupting my opponent. All modes of Izzet Charm are used here; It can be my Mana Leak, it can get rid of early drops that are troublesome (Experiment One, Rakdos Cackler, Banisher Priest), and it can fill my graveyard for my Chimera. Rapid Hybridization plays a pretty key role as well, either taking out a big guy (Desecration Demon, Boros Reckoner), or giving me a 3/3 for 1 without effecting my board state (With a pyromancer out, of course). I find myself using my burn spells as more spot removal than anything, which is fine because filling the grave and making way for pyromancer tokens is what I want to be doing anyway.
Some other decks of this archetype will be running cards like Mizzium Skin to protect the main creatures. I don't think that this is necessary because if they're wasting their removal on my cards, it means that they won't have mana to hurt me, which means that i'll be able to save my cards for a blow out. By running Mizzium Skin, I feel that space is being wasted, because it isn't really necessary. I have more copies of my win cons, and this deck is great at stalling for them. By saving them with the skin, it just means that i'll have 2 or 3 eventually, and I feel that that is a bit overkill. Other builds will also be running Mutavault. While this is a good choice in the control matchup, I don't feel that I need it because I have the hammers. If i'm to the point that Hammer is effective, I've probably already got the game on lock.
