+1 from me. Looks like a lot of fun when a combo goes off.

+1 to this:"You need a way to protect the Cyclops. Without something like Ranger's Guile , it's just a Kiln Fiend that is way easier to stop."

This deck is very cute and clever but an opponent who knows what you're up to will just let you cast your t3/4 spells and then play his instant-speed removal for a, what... 3-for-1? 4-for-1?

Mizzium Skin , Dispel , Negate , Ranger's Guile , or Ring of Evos Isle come to mind as possibilities.

Well, considering the format of that deck is vintage, it's not that surprising. That isn't really a fare comparison.

Hi there, it's the Fluxcharger guy again.

So at my FNM I was playing a W/R/U deck in draft. I won the draft again but came across something cool with Fluxcharger.

Boros Charm.

I was blowing people out attacking for 1 with Flux then using Boros charm to swap flux's power and toughness then giving it double strike for 10 evasive damage!

I thought of you while I was playing it and wanted to share. I know the deck doesn't run the white for the boros charm but I thought it was cool none of the less.

Aha, I love the idea of Boros Charm with Fluxcharger . An American Cyclops deck would definitely run those!

Dynacharge and Weapon Surge would work really well since each would be individually targeting each one. and side board Mizzium Skin for bastards who enjoy Azorius Charm 'ing your stuff while they attack, and they serve as versatile spells.

May 20, 2013 3:29 p.m.

@Charelston Unfortunately if you overload a spell it doesn't individually target each, that would be awesome tho :(

would save a cyclops though

Charelston says... #15

DeathByDragons thanks i'll look it up some more because stipulations in the card reading may allow an overload to prevent worldly effects Mizzium Skin because it must be one or the other not both right? you are probably right though.

Solid! +1

May 21, 2013 10:24 p.m.

Yeah, unfortunately

702.94b If a player chooses to pay the overload cost of a spell, that spell wont require >any targets. It may affect objects that couldnt be chosen as legal targets if the spell >were cast without its overload cost being paid

Found room to squeeze in 3 Ranger's Guile . Should make deck a bit more resilient!

I see you have Artful Dodge but maybe a Tricks of the Trade would be great? because you can buff it up while making it unblockable instead of unblockable until end of turn.

I run a similar deck to this, Fat Man and Little Boy, and I ran into a particularly troubling roadblock in the form of a turn 3 Ruric Thar, the Unbowed . If I am on the play and get a turn 3 Lethal Combo, gg; otherwise, gg. Thoughts on how to handle this Trolling Ogre?

June 3, 2013 2:28 p.m.

MinscAndBoo says... #24

Turn 3 Ruric? Holy crap, can't say I've faced that before. Yeah, that would hurt methinks! Maybe some Syncopate sideboard?

Why not change out Wild Hunger with Giant Growth ? It's cheaper, and gives the cyclops some extra blocking power too. I can see why wild hunger is good (the trample), but I think the extra power would be more useful. It might be even better to change it out with a Rancor since it's a cheaper trample addition.
