This is a Jace-themed Mill deck I've come up with!
The plan was to build a deck around each of the Baby Planeswalkers and make a monocoloured deck around each of them using cards from Planes they'd visited in the lore (Core sets were free game, though!).
The aim of this deck is to eat an opponent's library with your sneaky mage tricks before they slaughter you in a variety of horrific ways. Cards like Hedron Crab and Tome Scour can begin to wear down their minds, while Archive Trap can devastate anyone who dares use their fancy fetch lands and make them think twice about searching for that Stomping Grounds!
Cards like Deprive and Remand, as well as Fog Bank will hopefully hold the opponent at bay as you niggle at their mind piece by piece. Eventually, their insanity may take physical form in the shape of a weird blue bird thing that will smash them in the face for 5 damage each turn. Or, if you're able to, Traumatising them to death as their Fraying Sanity gives way to pure madness is an amusing way to achieve victory.
...So long as you are able to a. draw those cards, b. keep those cards out and c. survive that long. Yeah, this deck really isn't all that great. The sideboard's an absolute mess, freaking Witchbane Orb was the best I could do in terms of Hexproof. Evolving Wilds was thrown in with the hope to combo with the Hedron Crab, although if you have the ca$h ca$h mon£yz, the actual fetch lands would be way better as an option. Also, Jace just feels like he's... Uh... There. Which he kinda is for flavour reasons, swap him out with whatever you feel like.
At FNM, this deck didn't do too great- it was very fickle, and the odd game I won the opponent smashed me in the face the following game once they'd prepared for it. Also, Eldrazi. The Eldrazi are a problem. But it can have funny situations, and Jace's Phantasm can really do some damage should you get it out early.
Either way, thanks for checking out the deck and getting this far through my ramblings- suggestions are always appreciated!
