Hello Fellow Wizards, My name is Brian Okafor and I am starting a new Budget series where I make cheap and competitive decks for Standard, Modern, and EDH. Most of the deck will range from $15-30 Max. I hope you enjoy :))

Goal: Talrand for $20 on TCGPlayer.

Deck Tech:When I first started playing Commander, the first mono color legendary commander that i admired the most was Talrand. Talrand is a very interesting commander card, so its ability is to make a bunch a drakes with instants and sorcery spells. I immediately knew that Talrand had to be control deck..... A typical control has Card draw, counter-spells,and bounce-spells. The Game-plan is very simple. Counter the spells of your opponents, get Drake tokens for doing so, and set up a defensive barrier along the way. Then, wreck your opponent's face with Drakes. In Addition, always make sure you keep some mana open for other players' turns, so you can deny them from casting game-ending cards, and give yourself Drakes. If you just want to play instants that don't really affect the other players, like Impulse or Anticipate, just do so on the end step of the player going just before you. That way your opponents have less time (and available mana) to respond to your Drake summoning, and they'll be able to attack when it becomes your turn.Another good thing, if you have either Archaeomancer,Mnemonic Wall, or Diluvian Primordial, you can use Ghostly Flicker on them to get some sweet cards from the graveyard. Key Note: When playing this deck is you don't want to have Talrand out on the battlefield on turn 4 with no spells to cast to protect him or generate drake tokens. Your opponents can easily take him out with a simple removal spell. You usually like want to cast Talrand on Turn 5-7 with a spell in your Hand. The cool thing about this deck is only like $20 Bucks on Tcgplayer. Its Fun and affordable Deck to play and also steal games right under your own opponent's nose :)) A Def must-have to wreck your EDH playgroup and the awesome part is you only spent $20 unlike most edh decks ranging from $350-750. So Come On Down!!!!!! Under the SEA!!!!
