It's pretty much your stock elves list, with the addition of black to shore up some weaknesses.

Getting to play copious amounts of tutors like:

lets you go down various avenues to victory. You can use Beastmaster Ascension for the beatdown plan, Staff of Domination for the combo route, or fill the graveyard with Survival of the Fittest and get it all back with Patriarch's Bidding or Living Death .

Cutting:

  • Abrupt Decay: While there are things you can hit with Abrupt Decay, the odds of finding a good target aren't very high imho.

  • Gaea's Herald: I never really found the protection from counterspells to be particularly useful. Not to mention the fact that it helps everyone at the table, which can backfire.

  • Yavimaya Elder: He's not an elf, and while it is nice to get 2 basics out of my deck at the very worst (and drawing a card at the best), I feel like 5 mana is a bit much to commit to it.

  • Scryb Ranger: Along with not being an elf, which is something I kind of want to keep going, I found I wasn't really using it the best I could.

Adding:

  • Paradox Engine: This card is busted. Getting to untap all of our elves every time we cast a spell is ridiculous.

  • Sidisi, Undead Vizier: Not only is it a 5 drop that I can find with Eldritch Evolution, but it's also another tutor. Therefore, I can cobble together the line of EE-ing for SUV and sacrificing her to find the card I actually want. Following that line, I can also naturally cast her, sacrifice an elf token I got somehow and use her with EE as a bridge to go find Primordial Sage or Regal Force, which up until this point have been stranded at the far end of the curve.

  • Lifecrafter's Bestiary: Giving our creatures a Kicker cost of G, and drawing a card when they're kicked lets us potentially limp into a combo, or to go off with Paradox Engine. We can end up netting mana if we're casting 1 drops while there is an active Heritage Druid on the board.

  • Craterhoof Behemoth: I had initially taken the Hoof out of my deck because I wanted to reduce the number of "feel bad" situations where I would just kill the table. However, as the deck has become more competitive, I've felt the need to re-introduce it to the deck as precisely that; a way to end the game.
