I love the setup, but I'm a little confused. (Newish here) What are you responding with and to in the Phyrexian Devourer's combo? It's probably obvious but I'm just not seeing it. D:

Why are you using Swiftfoot Boots and not Lightning Greaves

Budget reasons. I have the card but I love the challenge of making good decks with cheap cards. If I could get this down to below $20 I would.

I thought for sure that I had upvoted this deck long ago, been subscribed to it since it was made.
Just clicked the upvote button now out of habit and it actually went through, better late then never!

My playgroup is having a $100 max budget EDH tournament and we got to pick between 3 randomly selected legendary cards under $5 and i luckily got Jarad as one of my three. I used this as a starting point and had enough left over for some upgrades. I chose to got with Sidisi, Rune-scarred, and necropotence to round out my $100 budget. The list looks fun and i hope it wrecks face!

Atony1400, you're awesome! Updated the 'Special Thanks' portion of the description to include you. Thank you! Look for a small update to the deck in the near future, I've found some great budget cards recently!

In EDH, you can't have duplicates of non-basic lands. Just FYI.

Not sure how that happened, its fixed now. I assure you there has never been more than one copy of any card other than basic lands in any of my EDH decks, lol. Thanks for bringing that to my attention!

Haha, no worries man.
I love what you've got going on here, btw. Golgari has always been a main staple for me, and with a budget list like this it proves you don't need to spend a lot of money to have a good deck that's both fun and easy to play.
+1 for sure!

Hey!
Built this deck (more or less) a few months ago and I really like it. Thanks a lot man. Its nice to have a budget deck that can compete with the big boys and win out of nowhere.
How do you like the new explore cards? I remember that you used to run a lot of effects like grisly salvage to fill the yard. I'd imagine explore is a bit slower.

Thanks JuicyFruits2, I'm glad your enjoying the deck! I just made a small change removing Path of Discovery and adding Final Parting. To answer your question about the explore mechanic, it's great! I either get a land in my hand or I can get a card in the GY or I can keep the card on top and draw it if needed all while buffing the creature to fling with Jarad later on.

Hey, the deck looks great, can't wait to try it out. You missed a two card combo that is pretty awesome to pull off if a little on the high CMC side of things: Phyrexian Devourer . With Jarad on the board, play Devourer and start exiling cards, according to the card once your power is greater than 7 you're supposed to sacrifice it, however you can simply hold priority, keep exiling cards, and when your power is higher than your healthiest opponent sacrifice Devourer to Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord 's ability killing all of your opponents.

oh, apparently im just lazy and didnt read well enough. so ill amend my prior post and say "hey, heads up, you talk about it in the spoilers but Phyrexian Devourer isnt listed in the deck properly."

@JustcallmeSoul: The deck price was recently out of control due to awesome, cheap commander cards raising in price so I cut all the most expensive cards, including Phyrexian Devourer trying to get the price down. I might put it back in though so I left the info in the description. I'm glad you like the deck, don't forget to hit me with a +1! :)

might not be a terrible idea to also make a mtgo decklist, far as i know Phyrexian Devourer is 4 cents xD

Funny you mention it I actually just started putting it on mtgo tonight. Haven't played online in 11 months and just decided to start up again yesterday. Bought a devourer for $0.02 today!

"Pili-Pala + Viridian Shaman = Infinite colored mana " I'm sorry but I don't see how these two cards result in infinite mana

I've tweaked it a bit adding stuff occasionally to keep it current but with Jarad is ready to start turning it into a mid range 'good stuff' deck. That's not necessarily a bad thing but with so many great options it's hard to decide what to put in. The build linked to above I tried to make more combo centric is built to combo out and protect the combo. Let me know what you think of it. Since you asked I think I'll add an upgrades section. I'll let you know when it's done.
