Jeleva's Repertory

Commander / EDH

Minion_of_Chaos

The Repertory is home to Jeleva, Nephalia's Scourge where you can cast as many spells as cheaply as possible. Large spells like Rise of the Dark Realms, Army of the Damned, and Cruel Ultimatum feel right at home here, where Jeleva doesn't have to pay a stinking thing to cast them. And while Jeleva is casting heavy spells for free, Guttersnipe can damage every opponent for each spell cast by Jeleva and company. The Spellheart Chimera also benefits for each spell cast, making it stronger with each spell.

This deck comes as a spell casting-control deck with numerous bounce spells. Disperse, Hubris , Whelming Wave , Peel from Reality , and Voyage's End can bounce Jeleva to your hand as well as take care of any expensive threat an opponent may cast.

Sea God's Revenge and the EDH staple Cyclonic Rift are also helpful in bouncing multiple creatures/permanents any opponents control. For the rest of the board threats, cheap instants like Doom Blade and its older brothers Dark Banishing and Terror can take out most creatures. Liturgy of Blood , Sip of Hemlock , and Wrack with Madness can kill the rest at sorcery speed in most cases while Necrobite can be nice removal in a combat situation.

Minor graveyard play can also come from this version of Jeleva. Diluvian Primordial and Sepulchral Primordial can raid for instants/sorceries and creatures from opposing graveyards. The Oracle of Bones can also aid in casting, as long as nobody wants a 5/3 with haste coming at them. Spelltwine can recast heavy instants and sorceries for free and Pull from the Deep can put them back in my hand. If these and other spells can't be cast for free, the Battlefield Thaumaturge can at least make them cheaper.

There's also a block of cipher spells including Hands of Binding and Hidden Strings for tap-control, Last Thoughts for draw power, Undercity Plague to clear cards from hands and play, and Stolen Identity as a utility to patch any holes with nice things or double up on things I control (works well with Guttersnipe or any other creature that is already ciphered). The Deathcult Rogue benefits from these various cipher spells due to its evasion.

Other control elements include the Detention Sphere-like Colossal Whale , tap-control Frost Breath , Sudden Storm , and Shipbreaker Kraken .

Updates Add

So I'm currently building aggro-control in Walk Quickly and with a Big Stick and I decided that Tamiyo, the Moon Sage and Ral Zarek would be better served there. So, I have replaced them with Reality Strobe, something that can bounce a permanent every 3 turns after it's been cast, and Decree of Annihilation, to add a beefy Jeleva bomb.

Also currently wondering if a Chandra, Pyromaster would be better for this deck anyway.
