Commander / EDH*

A preface to this abomination is in order, I feel. I am not a particularly competitive player. I enjoy janky eight card combos. I love playing $50 commander decks. I absolutely adore slamming down cards like Scrambleverse when I have twenty permanents more than the second highest amount. Nothing brings me more joy than going wide on three other players, and turning Commander into Archenemy all of a sudden. I'm here for quality wins, not quantity, And I'm perfectly willing to accept the punishment for my hubris in most instances. I'm happier when I cause a ludicrous shakeup and lose than when I blow everyone out and win. If this is starting to sound a bit like the Major's "I love war" speech, uh... Don't think too hard about it.

But the times, they are a-changing, and if I'm gonna' keep up with the rest of my usual play group, I'm gonna' have to start being a bit more serious. I'm surrounded on all sides by people who aren't content to play a tweaked precon anymore, opting instead to spend on bogeymen such as Jace, the Mind Sculptor, Snapcaster Mage and Tarmogoyf. I don't have a problem with upgrading to a higher echelon of play. I've actually been pushing towards it on our Modern and Standard nights for years now, and I should have expected some bleeding into our more casual formats. It is there, then, in the spirit of stepping into a more competitive realm (and still feeding my need to krieg), that I now draft up this pile of value.

Jenara, Asura of War appeals to me on a lot of levels. She's a super flavorful card, and when I decided on playing an Enchantress type build, she immediately stood out as someone they would look right with. I love Voltron commanders, such as Kemba, Kha Regent, and Jenni certainly fits that build. She offers me blue in addition to Selesnya Enchantress, which may not necessarily be better than the incredible effect Karametra, God of Harvests to the table, but does allow me some impressive anti-meta picks against my meta. Oh, and she's an angel who wargasms. Instant agape.

Now, so far as this deck's play is meant to go, this whole deal is pretty linear. You're goal is to slam as many enchantments on the table as possible, most of which do something to make you impressively hard to kill, or make your creatures a ton more valuable than they are naturally. Then, once you've achieved terminal mass, you turn your pet angel swordways towards player two, and bring 'em down. Then its player three's turn.
