I actually would love Righteous Aura against a friend's Zur voltron deck (he doesn't use a typical Zur). He tends to make Zur hexproof/shrouded pretty fast so it's annoying to win once he gets a few hits in.

Righteous Aura is in my Avacyn, Angel of Hope deck and I may never take it out. Anything doing 3+ damage gets nullified and it hard counters any deck going voltron.

This is geared towards multiplayer. I'm sure that if you made a few swaps this could easily become a solid 1v1 deck, too.

Collective Brutality is a new card that will shine here

AsykoSkwrl Both are solid options for spot removal. Vindicate is important for situations like when an opponent drops a Gaea's Cradle. Exiling is almost always the better option and instant speed removal does have a huge upside which is why I sometimes go back and forth with Anguished Unmaking. If I dealt with groups where I found myself wishing I had more removal options, I'd definitely board it in.
auswegslos I don't think Collective Brutality is worth an inclusion unless maybe you're using the deck in 1v1 scenarios. While it's true that the deck likes landing creatures in the graveyard, this card is essentially acting like just a one time discard outlet with no good upsides. We like creatures in the graveyard, but also would like a hand that isn't empty and begging for fuel in topdeck mode if that makes sense. Wheel effects and things like Faithless Looting or Tormenting Voice discard, but also draw new cards too. The modes aren't very useful and even the opponent hand reveal effect is simple card disadvantage since it only affects one opponent and yourself. If it had 1 or 2 more influential modes instead of its current ones, I could definitely see it being worth a cut.
In other news, the deck is definitely going to add in Recruiter of the Guard from Conspiracy: Take the Crown. White finally has a creature tutor!

auswegslos Grenzo looks like a fun creature to play casually, but I'm not sure what role he would be filling here. If I'm beating down one of my opponents with hatebears, I suppose exiling their top cards could add some benefit. The only problem is evaluating that benefit. Their top cards could very well serve no purpose to spend mana on so then in those instances Grenzo just becomes a milling creature. The other creatures in the deck serve to alter the tempo of the game or interact in a combo and don't have such high variance.
Feel free to try him out and see how he does, though. I could definitely imagine instances where you steal away a couple clutch cards that make him totally worth it. I'd just be afraid that those times don't outweigh the others where he can't be useful (like if I don't have too great of a board presence and need a tempo creature to slow things down, or when there's no way I could get damage in to get his trigger)

AngryChewie well Im at a point where I cant find anything I can cut.But I put in Shizo, Death's Storehouse for a swamp to get Alesha through. Could work with Grenzo too. I think the fact that he says cast and not play is a ko.

How good is Shred Memory for you? Are you in a graveyard centric meta where the front half is useful as well, or is it purely just a tutor for 2-drops? Looking at it, it seems that your top target is Demonic Tutor or Diabolic Intent to grab your combo pieces. So unless you value the front half highly, or there are more targets that I am not seeing, isnt Beseech the Queen more useful?

Russjass I like Shred Memory for the occasional times where graveyards are a concern, but I mainly use it for the transmute. Transmute can't be countered which is a huge plus. Also, it can grab things like Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit, Goblin Bombardment, Altar of Dementia, Blood Artist, Leonin Relic-Warder, Animate Dead, and Dance of the Dead which are all potential combo pieces (I'm excluding other cards that are utility options) so it isn't too restrictive. The thing I don't like about Beseech the Queen is the BBB requirement. I've found that trying to land a similarly costed card, Necropotence, can be a little difficult early on without Academy Rector just cheating it in if my lands aren't really heavy into black. If I were to include Beseech, I would probably have trouble casting it on curve unless I mess with my mana base. It can definitely be better in certain times where I may be caught needing to transmute for a tutor, but that hasn't occurred very often.

Thanks for the detailed reply! Yeah, there are more targets than I first thought. I am running a beseech the queen myself, but I am running a less competitive deck than you by far, so having to wait a turn between the tutor and casting the target is less of a problem.
Should I build this into a more focussed deck, then I will probably follow your line

Profet93 Had it in the deck at one point since it looked like a nice inclusion for my game plan of controlling the tempo until combo time comes, but it just didn't mesh well due to the 3 CMC and the fact that it's an enchantment. Dark Confidant is my preferred option. It's cheaper, I've rarely been severely hurt by it due to the deck's low average CMC, and it can be recurred with Alesha. If I'm searching out an enchantment for card draw, I'd almost always end up choosing Necropotence since it's much more explosive. One aggressive activation can easily help craft me a game-ending hand while Phyrexian Arena is much slower-paced incremental gain.
I guess, at least when I tried it, it was one of those things that was nice in theory, but just didn't pan out in reality.

What kind of 1v1 changes would you make to this deck? I don't play four person due to a very busy schedule so it's usually just a friend and I. Also, any particular reason for no damnation or wrath of God?

This deck looks like it needs Sire of Insanity. Awesome build! I've been looking for an Alesha hatebears deck for a while. Yours seems very balanced.

carpeomniaurum I'm not too familiar with the french commander ban list or what typical competitive matches are like in the format, but after accounting for cards in my current iteration that are banned in french, I would possibly add some form of hand disruption (preferably in creature form). In multiplayer, hand disruption is pretty awful. You're 1 for 1'ing a single opponent while leaving others with card advantage, but in a head-to-head format it may prove very useful. You may want to also add some additional mana rocks since I feel like 1v1 would be faster paced. Like I said, though, I don't really ever play 1v1 so these are all just assumptions. If you do go ahead and build a 1v1 deck, please let me know about your results with certain builds!
eebrost Sire of Insanity is a pretty cool card. I used to run it awhile ago in a Kaalia deck. It definitely helps with tempo while beating down opponents and leaving them in top deck mode. Basically, "you're top-decking while I have this big-ass demon on the field and have a likelihood of drawing into more baddies". My only concern is the mana cost. With Kaalia, I could cheat it in and simply ramp into a haste-y Kaalia that would throw it down while attacking. However, with Alesha, I can't exactly ramp as efficiently into it. My highest CMC creatures right now are Elesh Norn and Sun Titan. Elesh Norn provides a great deal of utility when it comes to straight beat down as well as denying mana dorks and other low CMC creatures to my opponents. Reanimating her is a great tempo move. Reanimating or hard-casting Sun Titan provides me recursion as well as an infinite combo and a beatdown tool. My main concern with Sire is that it will mess with my curve and not provide the kind of utility this deck wants. Kaalia wanted to swing all out and kill everything as quick as possible, primarily through combat damage. Sire helped allow this by removing the chance of having an answer in an opponent's hand. This deck wants to control the tempo until it's ready to kill everyone at once, but Sire would remove any sort of setup that I'm trying to retain in my hand. It's definitely an interesting card, though, and I'd like to experiment more with it. I'll try and see what it does in upcoming matches.

carpeomniaurum Another thought came to me from a past comment- if it's 1v1 it may be beneficial to add Master of Cruelties.

Thanks for the in-depth explanation on Sire. Your curve does seem very optimized, so the exclusion does make sense. My other question is why you went with the Anafenza + Redcap combo over Kiki + Resto. Doesn't Kiki provide more card advantage in the form of copying tutors?

I used to have the Kiki-Resto combo in here, but realized that I might have included too many different combos which resulted in spreading myself too thin. I really do like Kiki, though, especially since he can also combo with other things, too, like Karmic Guide and can be great for utility needs. The only awkward thing is his heavy red mana requirement. I'll look into what I can cut to possibly bring him back.
December 6, 2016 11:47 a.m.
Too many combos is a real thing. I think what could be an easy swap is just Anafenza + Redcap -> Kiki + Resto/Village Bell-Ringer.

beastyboya The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale is a great utility land. It stops very aggressive decks if you have a metagame that supports them (Goblins, Elves, etc), ruins the advantage gained from mana dorks, generally slows down the game tempo for decks that are faster than me, and Alesha can always help to bring back any creatures I decide to not pay for.
I'd love it in my deck if only it weren't so cost restrictive.

something like Righteous Aura could be argued to be better also, since it doesn't target so it can be used against Shroud and Hexproof where Forcefield cannot.
