1/25/18 Show

There was only four players, 3 rounds, 1-2.
• Round One, versus Rakdos Disruptor style build

Lost 0-2. Kept a 1 land hand with 2 Opts and a hand full of 3 cast cards in game one. Game two, had to mulligan into what looked like an okay hand, then ended up being smashed.

• Round Two, versus Naya Dinosaurs

Won 2-0. I got decent draws and knew which threats to keep in line going into the match.

• Round Three, versus Dimir Control

Lost 0-2. Grindy games, but Scarab God got more value than Azor did, and Black has better removal at instant speed.

Ended up trimming some fat, and going up a lot on the counterspell count. Switched to Energy for testing purposes.

1/26/18 Show

Decided against energy, and changed some cards around. Four rounds, 2-2.
• Round One, versus Bant Approach Lands. 0-1-1

Game one went almost to time, I managed to counter THREE Approach's and wound up losing because he got all the way down to 5 cards and I couldn't stop the last Approach. Game two went to Turns, and ended in a draw. Dropped Nezahal on turn 7, and it almost won the game. Opponent top decked a Settle with one card in my hand to save him on Turn 5 and draw us the game.

• Round Two, versus Jund Midrange Grind. 1-0-0

I don't actually know what was going on here other than good stuff like The Scorpion God, Scrapheaps and Ripjaws. But he saw plenty of removal options against the only win condition I found for most of the game (Locust God), but we ended up going to time in Game One with me barely pulling a victory out.

• Round Three, versus Orzhov Vampires. 0-2-0.

The deck just crapped in my hands both games. There was no logical reason for me to dig as many cards as i did and never seea fourth land until it was far too late. This game honestly should have been 2-1-0, but bad luck.

• Round Four, versus Naya Dinosaurs. 2-0-0

Thanks to the day before, i knew where i needed to keep my eyes and ended up with crazy good hands. It was hardly a fight, and i kind of felt bad and stopped countering spells halfway into both games. Although, I did get to draw my deck with Sanctum of the Sun + Azor's attack trigger!

Decided i definitely don't want to play Energy stuff, but will wind up mainboarding one Approach.

2/7/18Overhauled the deck, will update with new standings after FNM.

New plan: Keep them down early game and end up with cards that will out value most decks.

Primal Amulet  's will double up Approach of the Second Sun and gain MINIMUM of 7 life per cast, or protect our free-win by doubling up on counter magic.

Sunbird's Invocation will sometimes get us a win just by casting Approach the next turn. If not, diving 7 cards deep will almost always run us into removal we need.

The Locust God is good at eating up removal and holding down a board state late in the game once we start running low on utility.
