Delater: Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker and Soulfire Grand Master do very different things. I would definitely keep the Sarkhans in your deck but I would replace the mainboard Negates with Soulfire Grand Master.

spacecoyote1313: I know that Anger of the Gods kills my creatures too, but against aggro decks it really is the best answer available. It also takes out Sylvan Caryatid which I need to be able to deal with thanks to the large amount of Jeskai Ascendancy combo decks in my area. Plus I can gain a ton of life with it and Soulfire Grand Master.

I prefer Wild Slash to Magma Jet because of the cheaper cost. Having a one-mana answer to Goblin Rabblemaster is important, and it also lets me take out Elvish Mystic on turn 1 to avoid a turn 2 Courser of Kruphix or something like that. I've always thought Magma Jet was underwhelming. Thank you for your feedback!

yuna.miller: I will look at your deck and leave feedback. To properly tag your decks, take the deck "slug" from the URL (tappedout.net/mtg-decks/deck-slug-here/) and wrap it in two brackets. [ [ 27-01-15-aggro-jeskai ] ] (without spaces) becomes Aggro Jeskai, for example.

arc lightning wont kill a 5/5 phantasmal dragon will it :(

(phantasmal dragon is a big problem for my jeskai deck, don't ask why)

Arc Lightning would indeed cause your opponent to sacrifice Phantasmal Dragon. You could remove three Phantasmal Dragons with one spell.

phantasmal dragon isnt the only one of the problems but my little brother uses a 5/5 angel also

Well, I got it sleeved up this morning in preparation for FNM tonight:

(One Battlefield Forge somehow didn't make it into the picture)

Any last minute suggestions? I'm not really sold on the sideboard. I'm going to a different store than usual so I don't really know the local meta. Would expecting Sultai Control and Abzan Midrange be a fair speculation?

I think maindecking 1Disdainful Stroke will be a good bet. Lots of Tasigur, the Golden Fang, which I imagine will probably be true at most places.

One copy main wouldn't hurt. What do you recommend I take out? One Wild Slash?

February 6, 2015 1:42 p.m.

if only i had 3 more stoke.....

Can I ask why you don't run Monastery Mentor?

February 14, 2015 12:46 p.m.

i think making singletons into playsets or doubles may make the deck more consistent

I'm running 2 negates and 2 erase on my sideboard, I think they might be more efficient against enchantments, what do you think? Is Abzan advantage working well for you? Also; I have the dilemma on Sarkhan Vs. Stormbreath I'm running 2 Sarkhans and 1 Dragon instead of 1-2 like your deck, how is it working for you, what do you think is better in which scenario?

February 15, 2015 11:25 p.m.

rochdalekilla9: I prefer Goblin Rabblemaster over Monastery Mentor. Rabblemaster gives more consistent token generation. I think both cards are equal on power level and it's a matter of preference.

The-Jeskai-Monk: The only mainboard singleton I have is Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker. It's only been included for a little versatility, and it gives me another answer to Stormbreath Dragon that I can search for with Dig Through Time. I don't think I need a second one.

Rick83: 2 Negate and 2 Erase is fine. I do like Abzan Advantage quite a bit but as more enchantments are seeing play I think I'll be switching back to Erase for targeted removal. Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker and Stormbreath Dragon are both great choices and are equally powerful - it just depends on your local meta. I prefer Stormbreath Dragon as it is harder to kill and provides a late-game mana sink.

Here is my deck so far http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/15-02-15-jeskai-mac/ let me know what you think, I'm considering a singleton Narset on main deck to pump up late game since it's nearly impossible to remove, also check the maybeboard. Thanks for taking the time.

Glare of heresy works really good in the board here hitting pretty much everything in abzan snd the mirror. If you go on the Narset plan id change those SBD's into 2 more sarkhans so you don't end up dumping your late game into the grave, narset will put sarkhan on the field for you.

I built this deck back in khans but it didnt have the reach to go over rhino and through wingmate roc then, essentially forfeiting game 1 and trying to turn into a control deck for games 2 and 3 is not where this deck wants to be. Whip decks are also a rwally bad matchup, though those are not as popular recently. Hopefully FRF has brought the support to make this deck workable again as i really enjoy it. Good luck in your matches

I'm with rochdalekilla9, why no Monastery Mentor? I would put in at least two in place of Seeker of the Way if you have them.

How did this deck perform at FNM?

February 23, 2015 1:33 p.m.

I tried Monastery Mentor but I really don't like it in this deck. I think it's a great card in a dedicated tokens build but I prefer Goblin Rabblemaster and Mantis Rider as my 3CMC creatures here.

I took 1st at the last FNM I played, but it was a small 8 person event. Normally I can get to top 4 with this deck in 16 person events, depending on matchup. This deck has a hard time with Abzan/Gruul Midrange decks but does really well against control and aggro.

This deck looks great and well thoughts out. I'm new to Jeskai and took a little different approach on my deck, but would you be able to give me some pointers on this build: Jeskai Rookie (help please). I'd appreciate the help!

February 24, 2015 3:51 p.m.

Here is my deck, It got me in top 8 on game day, it's really consistent and fun to play. :)

Jeskai aggro/burn (Tips?)

February 26, 2015 5:20 p.m.

Aurrorian: Thanks for the suggestion! I've added one Outpost Siege and moved Chandra, Pyromaster from side to main, at the expense of 1 Valorous Stance and 1 Soulfire Grand Master.

you should take out a battlefield forge for a plains, sounds pointless but honestly I ran into way less stops from drawing out all my lands and then having spare flooded strands. also take out seeker of the way and just put in the new Ojutai Exemplars because it's the same thing but better effects. I also think the new Narset: Transcendent would go well in here

DEFINITELY replace Goblin Rabblemaster with Monastery Mentor

Ojutai Exemplars will do well to replace Seeker of the Way
