Jeskai Wizard Scepter

Modern

Sideboard

This deck's main goal is to stall out using Isochron Scepter. Isochron Scepter has the ability to cast low CMC instant spells over and over again, which can be used to really cheat the game. You can go the Turbo Fog route with Holy Day and Ethereal Haze, or completely lock your opponent out on Turn 3 by copying Silence. Finish it off by swinging in with multiple 4/4 Angels into the opponent's face.

Not to mention, this deck is wallet-friendly!

Isochron Scepter is a completely broken card in my opinion. There are a lot of 1 and 2 drop instants to copy and take advantage of, it's pretty ridiculous. The two types of cards that this deck takes advantage of the most are fog cards and Silence.

The fog cards are Ethereal Haze, Holy Day, and Dawn Charm. The first two are simple fog effects that prevent all combat damage. These are amazing, though, because these are on repeat every single turn. If you can't take damage, you can't lose**. Dawn Charm sees some extra utility because it can also counter a spell that targets us, which has come in handy before.

Silence is the big meme of this deck. I wouldn't normally recommend using this unless you can get it on an Isochron Scepter by Turn 2 to lock out the opponent on Turn 3. This is a great way to see an instant concede, and this strategy has beaten some top tier decks, like Hardened Scales Affinity, in my playtesting.

**This deck loses pretty hard to mill.

The main win condition of this deck is Luminarch Ascension. By exploiting Isochron Scepter to pull a fog every turn, we can almost guarantee many turns without taking a single point of damage. Then, by paying , we get a 4/4 Angel. Do this over and over again while our opponents bash their head into the table and then swing for lethal.
One thing to note before going into detail is that all of the spells I'm going to list here are able to be copied by Isochron Scepter but I don't think I'd really recommend it.

Anticipate, Mana Leak, Opt, and Condemn are the other spells of this deck. Anticipate and Opt are good ways of searching for the cards that we need, whether we have a fog in hand and need a Scepter or vice versa. Mana Leak is an early game counter spell to ward off the opponent in the early game or punish people for putting a lot of mana into one spell.

Finally, Condemn is the biggest candidate for getting put on an Isochron Scepter in this section. Condemn is a very good budget option for getting rid of very threatening creatures, and it gets around effects that proc when creatures die, such as Hangarback Walker. I wouldn't recommend putting this on a Scepter unless you already have a fog Scepter on the field.
