Maybe an Amulet of Vigor or two would help as well?

wyatt0781 This deck is fairly slow, but the only turn thats crucial to have a land enter untapped is for a turn 2 blade. After that it doesnt even really matter what you topdeck, since the deck is both a defender and an aggressor however it plays out. Everything revolves around creature synergies and that can be established slowly in this case, though if I have a semi-lucky draw I can aggro opponent in 4-5 turns. I've had terrible playtests a few times I tried against good and fast decks I've got, but thankfully this list only aims to dominate my friends decks and not the FNM. I've been interested in Mana Confluence for another deck of mine, so if I decide to buy them I'll definately replace some worse lands here. Thanks for your time.

Amulet of Vigor is way too expensive just to have lands untapped in a casual deck. It's definately an interesting recommendation, but damn that price :(

This deck helped me start my first commander deck, so thanks! 5 color God tribal deck and I had the issue of devotion. Check it out Got Gods?

You have 13 of 23 lands that EtB tapped. Feels clunky. Personally I like Evolving Wilds, or Terramorphic Expanse over vivids.

Also for some efficient beaters look at Tower Gargoyle, Wolly Thoctar, Jenara, Asura of War, and Rhox War Monk.

Well I'd have to start including all colors of basic lands with those tutors, so I probably wont since that becomes even more clunky. Every card pretty much requires entirely different colors, so having lands that produce 3+ colors feels a whole lot more consistent than having to tutor for untapped basics. The only turn thats almost mandatory to have all untapped lands is turn 2. On the suggestions Rhox War Monk was replaced by Behemoth Sledge, Woolly seems possible, but still feels lackluster. Gargoyle and Jenara doesnt come close to Mantis Rider or Esper Stormblade for their roles. Thanks for your time.

Prismatic Omen? Could help with some mana problems you might have.

Oh thats so sweet, but man that's expensive for a casual deck. Thanks though, I'll def bring them here if I manage to snatch some!

I rean a lower cost aggro variant of this- relying on Shield of the Oversoul, Clout of the Dominus and Steel of the Godhead with Civic Saber and Blessing of the Nephilim to pump up, and Zur the Enchanter as a one-of. Curved into mantis rider and Lightning Angels where the shroud could really shine. Sedraxis Specter deserves a look as a resilient and powerful threat, and Skyrider Elf is both cheap and big without knights. Hide/Seek is a really powerful tool. I ran Shifting Sky for a while as a mixed pump with Guildscorn Ward, but it isn't great.

Loads of nice suggestions mate, need to look into playtesting some later. The enchantments were used at one point, but I removed them for 1v1 games. I swap Shield of the Oversoul and Steel of the Godhead in for multiplayer games though. I think pumping up individual creatures doesn't serve much here, since Alara doesnt affect those. The fliers are very interesting as they tend to be the finishers every time. Thanks man!

Woolly Thoctar is a good multicolored card

Also Collected Company is great but expensive

CoCo would be brutal but as I don't play it in any other deck, I won't buy them just for this :)

What about Yore-Tiller Nephilim? A 6/6 with Knight of New Alara out and provides grave recursion to get back some crucial creatures and finish out a game.

Thanks, it truly is. Not consistent enough to dominate FNMs, but can make casual environments enjoyable and surprising for all parties :)

Awesome deck, I'm looking to build a 5 colour gold deck and this is a great base.

Have you considered running 4 Chromatic Lantern as a ramp alternative to trace? It comes down one turn later but you are usually dropping a blade turn 2 and it allows you to play a lot less tapped lands and even some basics, and it might push your artifact count up towards making Spire of Industry an option.

I also really like Etched Monstrosity for late game draw, it doesn't get the multicolour bonus but it's a 10/10 after activation so...

Horde of Notions could be an option if you went for some more elementals.

Also how about Savage Knuckleblade?

Sjorpha: Knight of New Alara can truly span in almost any multicolored direction and all suggestions are probably more viable than what I'm running. Though this is just a kitchen table build and I'm not looking to invest any real money on this anymore. I'll put those critters in the maybe to remind myself if I pick this up again! Thanks for your interest in my deck!

Rhox War Monk and Anafenza, the Foremost are both strong in the sideboard

January 17, 2018 6:56 p.m.

This deck is very cool. Lots of great stacking creature synergies/buffers. Makes this deck very versatile. Lots of odd multi-color specific things you're running too that seem to work out but are maybe a bit expensive mana cost wise. Guess that's the trade off when you are doing a budget deck, but I think the guts of this deck have some really cool elements. Mantis riders are my favorite and are probably a super MVP here.
