Ooh, I do like that scepter.
This deck is just made up of cards I have, otherwise I would definitely have a few more older cards in it. That doesn't mean I can't go seeking any trades or purchases, though...thanks for the input!

Arcane Melee ? Banefire ? Any spell that has X on it :)

Sadly, I don't have an Arcane Melee, but I'll definitely look into it. And I know my store has at least 1 Banefire...

Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind might be also be a good idea here.
You can pick up an Isochron in the new Izzet vs Golgari deck sets. Honestly there's a lot of great gems in those two decks that would make for great deck building materials.

Yeah, I'm increasingly considering swapping out Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius for Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind.
Perhaps I'll be getting one of those Izzet vs. Golgari deck sets in the near future...

Now that you mention it, Jp3ngu1nb0y, it hardly seems sporting to swap out my commander.

Sharding Sphinx seems kinda underwhelming here as it is your only guaranteed artifact creature as far as I can tell and there is no guarantee that Scrambleverse and the like will nab you one while you still retain control of it. Perhaps, if you are looking for a blocker or a beater of some kind maybe something more like Steel Hellkite or Wurmcoil Engine could fit in better?

+1, purely for the inclusion of Scrambleverse . Hilarity must ensue!

Honestly, Sharding Sphinx is only in here because I have it, and this deck needed more creatures. I'm slowly growing my collection of older cards, as I only just got back into the game around Core 2013 release, having not played since Mercadian Masques came out.

Consider Sphinx of Magosi as a replacement for Sharding Sphinx .

Oh. I need to get me one of those.
I also need to figure out when I've taken out too many lands and am banking too heavily on using Jhoira to cheat my stupid cards out.

I know it doesn't fit the theme but Fury Charm should be in every jhoira deck
June 26, 2014 7:19 p.m.
@benzzer853 I don't even have Jhoira's Timebug in here. Though I have thought about adding cards that add/remove time counters, I've decided to simply stack the fun cards to have drop in randomly, and/or in a planned manner.
Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to play the deck too much, so I won't be able to test my theory much for a while.

I don't run Timebug in my Competitive Jhoira deck but I still run Fury Charm and Clockspinning (clockspinning can kill planeswalkers too).

Iron Maiden would be better multiplayer if you don't do 1v1 a lot
June 2, 2015 9:05 p.m.
Of course, I completely forgot about Iron Maiden, thanks!

I prefer Heartstone because it has the added group hug effect, making it less likely that I'll be the target of any hate.
That said, Training Grounds would still be nice, but...what would it replace?

Might I suggest Isochron Scepter ?
Also, I prefer Disintegrate over Fireball in EDH. Because sometimes you want to be sure that when they die, they are never coming back.
