The only way Fairgrounds Warden is removed, is with removal, which you said you're not facing much of. Unless you're blocking mismatches with him, he should be fine.

If you're looking at instant level removal that does minimum of 3 and has endless capabilities, you're better off trying Harnessed Lightning which only costs 2... You don't have an artifact deck, you have a Vehicle Aggro deck. You can do 5 dmg with a Lightning Axe... Add in Fiery Temper and you're doing 8 dmg with that combo for 2 mana instead of 3.

My problem with it, is that you're not going to do 6-7-8 dmg on the norm with it, and it costs 3 mana. 3 mana to do 3 dmg is not good. 3 mana to do 4-5dmg to a creature is not good either.

I just don't like the card. I can remove bigger creatures for less mana, more consistently.

Never looked in the direction of Harnessed Lightning due to the energy mechanic involved an honestly want nothing to do with it in this build, BUT now that you mention Fiery Temper I could take out the Welding Sparks for 4 of them to use the discard outlet off Smuggler's Copter a lot more for other than deck filtering.

So what do you think about 4 Declaration in Stone and 4 Fiery Temper as a removal package and possibly siding the Madcap Experiment and 1 Start Your Engines and bringing Fairgrounds Warden to the mainboard and dropping a land? It sounds good in my head, your thoughts ?

I think that would be a much better use of cards/mana. Fiery Temper could even be used to finish off an opponent late game, where Welding Sparks couldn't. I've thought about using Fiery Temper in my deck as well, but I've been having a lot of fun and success with Servo Exhibition and Hijack, so I can't find a place for it.

I've been watching your deck turn and it's definitely fun build. You've got something good going on over there. I'm just glad vehicles can be a thing even if its just Smuggler's Copter and Fleetwheel Cruiser getting most of the play lol

Ya so why would you want 4 to hope you dont have 2-3 in hand then pray someone kills/removes the one on the field for you to wait to play that same card when there are alot of other beneficial things you could do instead of wasting cards in hand, 3 legendary s of the4 same is usually the most any will ever run in a deck because you can only have 1 on the field, sometimes it might be good but the majority of the time it will screw you having to many of the same legendary im guessing you play standard alot if you had that way of thinking in modern you wouldnt last long

You need to learn the game of magic, before you keep responding with silliness. You also apparently aren't grasping the idea of playing Depala, tapping her to pilot a vehicle and then playing ANOTHER, that isn't tapped and can be used to pilot ANOTHER vehicle in the same turn. I also want more than one in the deck because she's amazing in Standard and gives my Dwarves and Vehicles +1/+1 AND allows me to cycle my deck to get dwarves and vehicles.

Modern is an entirely different monster. I've never even used a Legendary Creature in a Modern deck, because it's rarely an optimal choice (Unless it's a Planeswalker). I'm not sure how old you are, or what you're trying to accomplish by arguing a moot point, but you could at least spell check your post and make rational sentences so I can discuss this with you.

3-4x Depala, Pilot Exemplar is NOT a bad thing... In a Standard Vehicle deck, it doesn't hurt you to have Legendary Creatures like it would in MOST NORMAL decks... With your logic people would never play 4x Liliana, the Last Hope... Just an FYI, many pros play 4x Planeswalkers even in Modern and those suffer the same fate as "Legendary".

Is there anything that can replace smuggler's copter in this deck? Even just an idea would help

Faqe says... #9

Noice deck man. Little thing about the sideboard though, why not exchange the Radiant Flames with Kozileks return since you'll never converge for more than 2 anyway and return is instant speed?

So you are telling me just because you tap and legendary creature to use the pilot effect it gets rid of the legendary rule were you can place 2 on the field at the same time or what smart ass i dont play standard that much and in modern just because you tap a leg creature for its ability doesnt mean you can place another one or for the 3rd time alreeady does piloting removing the creature from the field since it says no where on the card that it does that so wasnt trying to be a smart ass but i can see you are a wanna be tough guy and btw dont be an idiot comparing legendary creature to planeswalkers let alone top1-2 planewalker there is that is just dumb but anyways have a great wonderful day you amazing person

I apologize if this comes off Harsh, but I'm tired of the attitude..

For the 2nd time -- Learn the game of magic, as you don't understand how Legendary Creatures work... You're clearly having trouble putting together your sentences like an adult, so I'll do my best to decipher your Morse code.

1) There is NO rule that says you can't play a second copy of a Legendary Creature on the board. The rule is that you can't have TWO of them on the board at the same time. It simply means that you have to DISCARD the first one, when the 2nd one comes into play.

2) With that rule clarified for you... IF you get stuck with a Depala, Pilot Exemplar in your hand and on the battlefield, follow the steps below...

A) Tap the first Depala, Pilot Exemplar to pilot a vehicle.

B) Put the second Depala, Pilot Exemplar, from your hand, into the battlefield. Which forces you to discard the tapped Depala, Pilot Exemplar.

C) Tap the second Depala, Pilot Exemplar, to pilot a another vehicle and activate her ability, if you have the mana.

D) Attack with TWO vehicles, instead of 1.

Depala, Pilot Exemplar is an essential card to this deck. Having 4 of them nearly ensures you will get one or more every single game. The fact that you can use this piloting trick, is reason enough to justify having multiple copies of her, to ensure you get her on the board.

In regards to your Planeswalker comment... I'm not comparing Depala, Pilot Exemplar to any Planeswalker. I'm simply using your ignorance against you. You're so incredibly confused by this method, yet it's a VERY common practice in Modern Magic to use a Planeswalker's ability, put the SAME Planeswalker into play, discarding the first, and then using that SAME ability again in the same turn.

I cannot believe what I just read... Lmao! That's the best thing I've ever read on a comment board.

I hope you learned something about Legendary Creatures from my "Ignorant" comment. Looking forward to you growing up a little, so you can take part in these discussions like a normal human being. Take care, kiddo!

Brofessor_X I believe the confusion with borossmh arises from the second version of the legend rule where if two copies of a legendary creature (or plainswalker with the same type, because this applied there too) were on the battlefield at the same time both were sacrificed. This lasted from Champions of Kamigawa to Magic 2014 This was an additionally awkward mechanic because it didn't check which side of the battlefield the creatures and/or plainswalkers were on so those cards could be used as extremely specific spot removal. There was at one point legitamte strategy in including legendaries and plainswalkers that didn't fit with the theme of ones deck (but were obviously on color) as a response to ones meta. Additionally questioning someone's age in order to imply that despite not meeting your standards you are somehow deigning to respond to them comes off as kinda condescending and generally isn't in line with the generally positive and supportive atmosphere that Magic tries to create. Instead of that tactic, it's ok to respectfully disagree with another person and exit the discussion at any point, or post the language of the current rules in question.

borossmh and Brofessor_XKindly make sure not to insult other people based on supposed ignorance, age, or proficiency at the game. Optimally this is a space to learn and grow and the only way to keep it as such is too be positive and constructive. Additionally Brofessor_XI like your version of this deck it seems super sweet.

borossmh, don't waste your time worrying about what Brofessor_X has to say. If he's not a kid himself, then he suffers from a developmental disorder that makes him behave like one; going berserk as soon as anyone disagrees with him.

October 8, 2016 6:42 p.m.

GrayAlchemyst says... #17

Ok people, this is a little ridiculous, if everyone were to stop insulting everyone else this would work out much better. Additionally if everyone stopped insulting people On The Internet then the general public wouldn't be able to access a record of basically everyone being insulting to someone else. (Nothing Ever Goes Away!) And in order to provide extreme clarity on the definition of insult I have made this list of things to not do, and substitutes. Do Not:

  1. Comment on someone's age (Instead talk about something germane to Magic.)
  2. Comment on someone's intelligence (Instead talk about something germane to Magic.)
  3. Comment on someone's skill at the game (Instead just talk to them about something that is germane to Magic, like how they can better at Magic, WITHOUT being condescending)
  4. Swear (Instead talk about something more appropriate for all audiences ooh, and more germane to Magic.)
  5. Seriously never comment about someone's mental health like ever, not cool, really terrible, anyone who is handicapped in any way who reads your thing is going to feel terrible, and they are not even the person you are trying to make feel terrible, So stop. (Please, Instead just talk about something anything even mildly related (And not insulting, I know some of you scrolled up to number 3)to Magic.)

This ends Gray's short list of "Things That Are Insulting To People."

hi guys, im trying to build this deck, but i need tips on how to fight control decks, like BW, GRIXIS, MARDU or even the emerge deck... tips like when to sideboard, what to replace, what to expect...specially with heavy removals

October 10, 2016 6:49 p.m.

borossmh Brofessor_X whompkin and GrayAlchemyst Sorry for the late response was the wife's birthday so have been occupied all weekend. Also thanks for clarifying for borossmh the change to the legendary rule as I can see that it stirred quite the confusion after catching up on the comments. Lets keep things respectful and constructive in the comments. I don't mind shots being taken at me (it's my deck I should be ready for them) but not at people trying to understand the mechanics of the deck so that's that.

Faqe Kozilek's Return is better you're very right on that and I somehow forgot about it when creating my sideboard and will replace Radiant Flames with it. Sadly though the recursion would never happen after it's played due to me not having any big eldrazi in this deck, but it still is better than the latter being instant speed.

Dracorex212 I'm honestly not sure if Smuggler's Copter can be replaced and since the price has sky rocketed (Almost $18 now) I can see why a substitute would be wanted (bought all mine at $2 a pop cheap before the big pro tourney). I'll look into a good substitute and will update everyone here if one isn't named before I find one that's a tough card to sub just like Sylvan Advocate in green decks is hard to sub.

October 11, 2016 12:59 p.m.

Brofessor_X says... #22

The reason why Smuggler's Copter is so expensive, is because it's a 3/3 Flyer for 2 that you MAY cycle your deck with. Not to mention, it essentially turns any 1/1 creature or token into a "3/3 Flying Drawing Machine"...

If you can't afford, or don't wish to afford 4x of them, then I would just replace it with Sky Skiff until you can slowly afford them. Having a 2/3 flying vehicle is better than not having a cheap flying vehicle.

October 11, 2016 1:16 p.m.

Don't know how I forgot about Sky Skiff when it was originally apart of this build lol it's a strong flyer for 2 just without the card draw/discard. It is a good option until (we can only hope) Smuggler's Copter prices drops....in a year lol It's just too good for it's cost and I don't think even Wizard's knew that when it was printed it would impact standard like it has.

Side note: I've made a change to the sideboard (1 card) check out the update panel above and let me know what you all think. Thanks!

Also -- Great idea with Refurbish... You could actually discard Skysovereign, Consul Flagship with Smuggler's Copter and then use Refurbish if you only had 4 mana. Very interesting! I will have to playtest with this.

October 11, 2016 1:23 p.m.

That isn't a bad play when you put it that way. Makes being "mana screwed" not as bad when you have those 2 cards in hand and can basically play the Flagship for 4 mana instead of waiting for the 5th to show up.
