TheNightWolfRS, you're not copying the mana ability, you'd be copying the untap activated ability. So you tap Basalt Monolith for , then pay to untap it, and while that activated ability is on the stack, you spend for the Rings of Brighthearth trigger to copy the untap ability. Now, you let the copy resolve (as it is on the top of the stack), then before the original untap ability resolves you tap the Basalt Monolith for an additional . That's what gives you infinite mana. Hope that helps.

Probably adding Fae of Wishes or something similar to that will allow you to play the cards in your sideboard too.

You know the Rings of Brighthearth infinite combo with Basalt Monolith doesn't work cos Basalt monolith is a mana ability
