Yo dawg I heard you like blue green. Say no more. "Simic" refers to the U/G guild of Ravnica, known for their biological experiments and mutations. This deck features work from some of the Enclave's finest biomancers: cloudfin raptor and experiment one seem innocuous once cast, but with twenty two creatures in the deck, their "evolve" ability goes off a lot. You'll notice that almost all of the other creatures in the deck have the "flash" ability. You can cast the creature any time you could play an instant, and that gives this deck incredible versatility. You can play aggressive ("declare attacks step, swing with experiment one for 1 damage. No blocks? In response, flash in Shambleshark. Experiment One evolves, and becomes a 2/2.") It can be defensive ("before declaring blockers, flash in Briarpack Alpha, targeting itself. Briarpack Alpha becomes a 5/5 until end of turn. Block your 4/4.") And it has the tricks to make for a deep game. It might seem like a bad play to give an opponent a 3/3 with Rapid Hybridization, especially since it can evolve your own creatures as a combat trick, but sometimes a 3/3 is much more manageable than the real threat Dustin is building. I know 25 lands might seem high, but trust me, you want to see every land drop, especially so you can cast Inspiration with a Horizon Chimera in play. Dustin's deck is explosive, so you'll need to mitigate threats rather than control the whole board. Have fun!
