Ramp in the Command Zone.

Instant-speed spells (including Flash permanents) are critical in order to ramp during the combat step.

Some weaknesses to work around:

  • Jorn is a 3/3 that wants to attack every turn. He needs some help staying alive through the combat step.
  • Jorn's trigger only affects snow-covered lands, so I'm largely confined to using snow-covered basics and duals. The manabase will not be very robust, so I will try to avoid color-intensive spells.

Wincon deas:

My current ideology is to assemble a doubler (e.g. Seedborn Muse) plus a mana-sink wincon (e.g. Simic Ascendancy) and creep towards victory that way. It's fun for the table because it's broadcasted (as opposed to a win "out of nowhere" like Thoracle combo), and it's effective because it's not "just" combat damage or Commander damage.
