@Gobranstinople Right here on tappedout.Did manage to snipe a couple of victories off this now, but I had to sideboard a bit.

Take out: 2 Doomblade (mono black is almost 25% of the meta), 3 lifebane zombie. Put in 2 Thoughtseize, 2 Connections, and a duress. Swap alms beast for desecration demon. Sideboard take out High Priest for the lifebane zombies.

@mith0jake He said very clearly why he runs almsbeast and not desecration demon. He likes to play a little fast and loose... taking risks, but also benefitting when the circumstances are right. Alms beast doesn't get tapped down, and with erebos on the board there's no drawback.

High Priest of Penance is an incredible chump blocker, but you don't really have a way to protect it from something like Ratchet Bomb , Abrupt Decay , or Putrefy . You may want to put in some Gods Willing or Brave the Elements to help save it, or put a ton of enchantments on it to get more use from blocking and/or attacking.

Horrible deck to play against. I am the guy playing the ramp deck from your description and I only seem to lose to decks such as yours. I completely agree that Alms Beast is a better choice than Desecration Demon , especially if Erebos, God of the Dead is on the board.
I would definitely swap out Doom Blade for Ultimate Price due to black being so played right now. Also, drop the Lifebane Zombie s, 1 more Erebos, God of the Dead and 2 more Thoughtseize would make this deck a bit more reliable.
+1 Upvote Certainly! Please give my deck Jund ManaRamp (Needs Work!) a peek and tell me what I should add to play against decks like these. Budget is no issue.

zorroslayer Thank you, I quite enjoy playing this deck. I left a comment for you on your own deck.

I'm curious how Eidolon of Countless Battles would do in this deck, with elspeth in the mainboard and considering Brimaz, King of Oreskos could also maybe find a spot here I feel he would be very powerful, though the issue comes in where he would fit in, and as for the sanguine bond in the maybe board I feel it would be too mana dependent and with how much hate whip gets in standard it's doubtful both will stay on the board long, though a turn might be all you need. decisions like these might have to do with more local meta.

almalong - Sanguine Bond would be a meta choice. I have many stalemate type battles that would be blown open with the bond, and the obvious synergy with Whip of Erebos . Brimaz, King of Oreskos would be a sideboard option, replacing Fiendslayer Paladin , but he is a powerhouse and could make the mainboard if he works well. As for Eidolon of Countless Battles , he works best with Ethereal Armor , and I would want him in a deck that featured that combo.

he doesn't require Ethereal armor, and with the amount of tokens this deck could possibly produce along side the aura's of gift and underworld connections, I feel it would be powerful enough on its own, though I'd use it more then likely on a creature to take the place of ethereal armor, as a safeguard against board wipes

Have you considered Desecration Demon in place of Alms Beast ?
February 17, 2014 9:20 a.m.
really the only difference between picking alms beast and desecration demon is your local meta, and for his local meta alms is stronger then desecration
